Khana national park had 3 resorts/hotels in 90’s which have exceeded 25 by ‘08) Many govt./self financed organizations came to rescue of animals in danger. (monkey,bear,snake and many others on street were freed to be left in forest) Govt. started promoting Eco-tourism on state basis as it was a regular revenue earner rather than places with religious importance which had peak crowd in season. Many laws were made and anti poaching activities were intensified to make a firm step towards preservation.

5. Indian Wildlife India is a home to 7.6% of all mammalian. 12.6% of all avian. 6.2% of all reptilian. 6.0% of all flowering plants. Overall 33% of Indian plant species are endemic. India along with 17 mega diverse counties is home to about 60 – 70% of the world’s biodiversity.

6. India’s Reserve India has 12553.26 Km 2 area protected as National parks. India has 17 Biosphere reserves (84492 Km 2 ) out of which 7 belongs to World Network of Biosphere Reserve based on (UNESCO). India has over 441 animal sanctuaries covering more than 105940 Km2 of area.
