How did this dictator come to power?
Election: he was elected by the people
He was the leader of the Nazi party, which
became more and more popular through
the 1930s. Eventually, in the 1932
elections, the Nazi party became the
biggest party in the German government
and Hitler became the Chancellor of
Germany. He signed a document called
the Enabling Act which gave him
authoritarian powers to control Germany.

What happened to the people of his country under
his rule?
1. He persecuted Jews in what is called the Holocaust. 6
million Jews and other minority groups were killed in
concentration camps.
2. He led Germany into World War 2 as a result of
invading Poland.
