• They are scared that they will get infected after the operation.
• Some of them think that it is time consuming when dealing with the organ donation
procedures.
• Some of the respondents think that family’s obligation is also a reason for them.
• The respondents think that religion is the deterrent for them.

4. Nationally, with a population of 1.2 billion people, the
statistic stands at 0.08 persons as organ donors per
million population (PMP).
Other countries like Singapore, Belgium, Spain have a
more aggressive approach of 'presumed consent',
which permits organ donation by default unless the
donor has explicitly opposed it during his lifetime.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO),
only about 0.01 percent in India donate their organs
after death, while in Western countries around 70-80
percent of people pledge their organs.

5. In INDIA around 6000 people die every day waiting for organ transplant.
Every 17 minutes someone dies waiting for transplant.
Every 13 minutes someone is added to a waiting list.
