HUMAN RESOURCE
The resource that resides in the knowledge, skills, 
ability & motivation of people. 
Human resource is the least mobile of the four factors 
of production(land, capital, enterprise & labour) and 
(under right conditions) it improves with age 
and experience, which no other resource can do. 
It is therefore regarded as the scarcest and most crucial 
productive resource that creates the largest and longest 
lasting advantage for an organization.
MEANING OF HRM
      Human  Resource  Management  means 
employing  people,  developing  their 
resource  utilizing,  maintaining  & 
compensating their services in tune with 
the  job  &  organizational  requirements 
with a view to contribute to the goals of 
the organisation,individuals & the society
DEFINITION OF HRM
• It is concerned with people at work
• Managing the people at work
• HRM can be defined as a process of procuring,
developing and maintaining competent
resources in the organization so that goals of an
organization are achieved in an effective and
efficient manner.
• HRM is an art of managing people at work in
such a manner that they give best to the
organisation.
