The document discusses the relationship between business and IT and some challenges they face. It notes that IT should facilitate and support business needs by providing accessible information and new business opportunities. However, IT systems may not be fully integrated, extendable, or able to keep up with business targets and deadlines. The document proposes some solutions such as aligning enterprise data, applications, and infrastructure to business goals through governance and self-service tools for users. It suggests analyzing the current state, defining metrics to track progress, and making applications configurable by business users. Finally, it mentions using frameworks like TOGAF and tools like Troux to establish governance models and collect metrics.
Being perceived as a market leader is a tedious assignment today since the business world is so competitive. Legitimate and precise planning is essential for any activity, alongside steady help from the right hands. The Netsuite outstanding cloud ERP solution encourages business development and progress through practical business help from the executives.
Did you know? Implementing ITSM can improve the effectiveness of IT functions by over 62%.
As there continues to be a global shift towards managing more and more data, and housing data in the cloud, many companies are looking to manage their IT budgets closer and sustaining their infrastructure operations. Many studies have provided data on how IT Operational costs eventually decrease over time, but there are still initial costs, and costs to upgrade, scale and sustain.
Until recently, most technical infrastructure components, devices, applications, etc. resided within the organization in which they served. Since the industry has moved to a more virtual model, data, technology, infrastructure services and even applications can now exist in the cloud. With that, there is a need to clearly understand exactly what is being stored in the cloud and how is it being managed.
Areas covered:
1. Understanding importance of ITSM
2. Delivering and managing IT services
3. The value of IT to the business and the service provider
4. Maintaining stability while allowing for change
5. Organizing to improve IT support operations
6. The processes underlying Service Operations
7. What to manage when interfacing with Cloud Service Providers

Empowering The End User - The Future of IT Support, Developing a First Class ...RES
With the consumerisation of IT, the expectations and demands of the end user are rising. Users are demanding the functionality, autonomy and freedom to consume IT services that they have at home and IT departments are struggling to adapt. This presentation shows how an NHS hospital is using technology to empower and enable users to self-serve systems, services and processes.
We present how the typical model of delivering IT services can change, end users are frustrated by the lack of responsiveness to their needs, and that empowering the end user not only improves the impression of the service it can save money.

Based on experience as Architect. Tried to provide some thoughts on what are the important qualities Architect has to develop for emerging Technology complex environment
The concept of IT intensity is explained, and I show how an organisation with the correct IT intensity will be better able to survive future threats. This little understood concept can change the way you do business and the way you think about IT.
However IT intensity is much more than just adding more technology. This must be linked with your processes and strategy.
The bottom line: Do it to yourself before someone does it to you
In ongoing research and interviews, leading IT analyst firm Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) has witnessed the growing role of IT service management in many IT organizations. Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

2.
IT should be a facilitator for business
Disruptive IT should bring new lines of business
Information needed should be at door steps for all major
decisions
IT should support all the product lines and it should help consumer
to do business in a comfortable way
WHERE?
3.
IT has its own way of execution (Strategy, Execution ,…)
IT may not have integrated system in terms of data , application
..
IT Solutions may not totally extendible , not plug – play, slow turn
around, every additional solution costing more investment.
Business Team has their own aggressive targets and deadline
which IT finds difficult to match
CHALLENGES
4.
After a lot of transformation in IT we are marching towards the
solution. This is a long term one which if adapted we would be
there.
Enterprise Governance (Data , Application, Infrastructure)
aligning to (Enterprise Vision, Mission,…).
Self Service applications to Business Users.
Information should be available as Service or API which any
application or end user can access to.
IS THERE A SOLUTION?
5.
Look at where we stand
Do a GAP Analysis to reach the vision
Defined well defined metrics in terms of Governance targeting
mission , vision..
Try to make the application self configurable by Business Users
and they can tailor the Business rules & data based on their
need.
HOW TO GET THERE?
6.
Adoption of TOGAF, Zachman Enterprise framework for defining
the Governance model.
Troux Kind of tools can be used to collect the Metrics and
validate the Enterprise Performance against standards
FRAMEWORKS/TOOLS.
