1. ‘WHAT’S ON TV’ LISTINGS
MAGAZINE ANALYSIS

3. TITLE
This piece of text is the biggest sized font on the whole page to help
draw attention, which is also achieved by the first three words being a
different colour to the rest of the text. The text is half the size of the
picture, so I know that in my listings magazine the title needs to be
bigger than picture and the text underneath the picture.

4. PICTURE
The male character, Raf, is slightly larger in the picture, as the interview
below is with the actor who plays him. Both character’s faces are the main
focus point of the picture, as the storyline featured is specific to them. The
background fits with the show they are on, Holby City, which reinforces the
show and also draws the readers attention, due to the bright colours. In my
TV listings feature, I will make sure that the picture is bold and draws the
reader’s attention to it.

5. SMALL PICTURE
A smaller picture of the actor being interviewed on another show,
Strictly Come Dancing, is featured at the bottom of the interview. This
increases the reader’s interest in the actors, and makes the interview
more visual than just text. There is also a caption to give more
information to the reader. I may include this in my TV listings as it
makes the reader more interested in the interview as well as the
programme that the actor is in.

6. THE INTERVIEW
The questions are in a blue colour, to make them stand out. The actor’s
answers are put next to a red A, to contrast the answer to the question.
There are 3 columns on a single page. At the top of the interview in a red
and yellow box is the programme name and the time that the episode will be
broadcast/the normal time the programme is broadcasted if it is a regular
programme, and the channel and genre. This is a good feature as it draws
the reader’s attention will bold colours but also reminds them when to watch
the programme.

7. There is a website link at the bottom of the right hand page, to
help inform the readers of where to find more information about
the programme. I will use this in my TV listings magazine, as
this plugs the programme further than just the advert.
