Skills Assessment Paper
Summary of Skills
For the development of an organization to be successful and effectively achieve set goals and objectives, strong management and organization skills will be required (Bateman & Snell, 2007). Our Team A brings a broad spectrum of skills and talents coming from life, educational and work-related experiences. Each member of the team possesses unique skill sets that will bring fresh ideas, techniques and creative solutions to challenges in the development of our consulting firm.

The first type of consulting firm that we could possibly work with would be a human services/independent living consulting program. This program would collaborate with a client’s care givers, doctors and independent care organizations to assist in facilitating a client’s independence and improve or maintain health. This consulting firm would collaborate efforts to create an independent, long-term care plan that will enhance the develop of daily living skills, educate on services and programs available, exercise the right to make healthy living choices, and encourage pro-active involvement of all care-giving professionals in the pursuit of personal growth, presence, and participation in the long term care process. This program will improve and emphasis respect and dignity through the promotion of independence.
PLEASE ADD THE OTHER TWO TYPES HERE!
The types of problems these consulting firms might solve.

17 A CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR MANAGED CULTURE CHANGEIn Chapt.docxfelicidaddinwoodie
This document provides an overview of a conceptual model for managed culture change. It describes Lewin's three stage model of change (unfreezing, learning new concepts, internalizing new concepts) and elaborates on how unfreezing involves creating disconfirmation, survival anxiety, and psychological safety. It explains that survival anxiety alone is not enough to motivate change and that learning anxiety must be reduced by increasing psychological safety. Key aspects of creating psychological safety are providing a compelling vision of the future state, formal training, involving learners, informal coaching, managing information flow, rewarding change behavior, and rebuilding self-esteem and trust. The model aims to ensure survival anxiety is greater than learning anxiety to drive organizational change that may involve cultural shifts
The document provides tips for how to potentially get taller, including maintaining good posture, eating a balanced diet with enough calcium, protein, vitamins D and zinc, getting adequate sleep, and avoiding stunting factors like smoking, drugs and malnutrition. Genetics are said to determine 60-80% of height, so one's growth may be limited, but following healthy habits could help reach their natural height potential. The tips are aimed at still-growing children and teenagers.
Health behaviour and health education for family medicine postgraduatesChai-Eng Tan
This document discusses several health behavior theories that can be used to understand health behaviors and design interventions to promote behavior change. It provides an overview of the Health Belief Model, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Theory of Reasoned Action, and Theory of Planned Behavior. For each theory, it describes the key constructs and provides examples of how the theories can be applied to design health education programs around behaviors like condom use and STI screening. It also notes some limitations of each theory.
The document describes an empowerment model for changing behaviors in organizations. The model involves three shifts: 1) from focusing on problems to envisioning solutions, 2) from seeing growth as static to an ongoing process, and 3) integrating self-awareness and behavior change. It provides cultural practices like self-responsibility, authentic communication, and trust to create an empowered environment where new behaviors can take root. The process of behavior change involves four steps: self-awareness, vision crafting, identifying needed transformations, and determining next steps. It culminates in individuals setting intentions and getting support to achieve and sustain changes. The model was successfully used by an American Express team to adopt accountability and empower themselves.
This document discusses overcoming barriers to innovation within large organizations. It outlines strategies for identifying supporters of new ideas, building evidence to gain approval, and empowering others to advocate on behalf of initiatives. Specific techniques are presented for recruiting "landing zones" to champion concepts, conducting stakeholder feedback sessions, and facilitating execution by removing roadblocks. The goal is to leverage the capabilities of AARP and UnitedHealthcare to create collaborative innovation through a shared vision and accountability framework.
This document discusses fostering resilience in children and youth. It defines resilience as positive outcomes despite serious threats or risks. The presentation objectives are to define risk and resilience, illustrate resilience dimensions in children and youth, describe recent research findings, and consider approaches to facilitate student resilience. The document discusses shifting from a risk focus to resilience, protective factors like relationships and skills, and frameworks for positive youth development. It also summarizes several programs that aim to develop social-emotional skills and assets to promote resilience.
Derek Headey discusses measuring food and nutrition security in Egypt. He outlines key concepts like ensuring all people have access to sufficient, safe food at all times. To measure this requires a menu of indicators like calories, poverty, dietary diversity, and nutrition outcomes. However, each indicator has strengths and weaknesses. He emphasizes validating context-specific indicators like dietary diversity. Measurement systems must adhere to principles like representative, frequent surveys. Higher frequency data is needed to monitor resilience, but this could be achieved through lower-cost thin surveys between thick rounds.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS
Root Cause Analysis
Root-cause analysis is gaining significance in the globally changing business environment since problems arise necessitating for more sophisticated techniques of handling and solving them. Andersen and Fagerhaug (2013), argue that it is an approach that enables business owners to respond to the question of why a problem occurred, identifying the origin of a problem following a set of stages with tools connected to it. It is used to look for the initial cause of the problem. From competition to customer satisfaction challenges, to the quality of goods and services provided; organizations and enterprises are obliged to be innovative incessantly.
One of the tools I would use is the five why's since it is useful in any problem-solving procedure. Mostly, it is employed in the analysis stage as an analytical tool. It is a simple tool that allows one to get to the bottom of the problem and it is inherently subjective by nature and requires to be backed up by both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Also, it needs that after the discovery of the cause of a problem that the results from quantitative and qualitative data are fed into the resolution development. Moreover, it employs a question-asking technique to sightsee the cause-effect association causing the problem. In essence, the problem solver repetitively asks “why” in anticipation of a significant inference being arrived at. Usually, at least five questions ought to be asked. The Five Why's begins with a statement that needs to be understood and then followed by asking whether the account is valid. It is then trailed by asking why the report is accurate continuously until there is no other answer to the question. The fifth number is when one has already identified the cause of the problem. While some problems' causes can be defined in the first four stages, there are some that go even beyond the fifth extra question if the actual causative is yet to be well-known instead of just resolving for an incomplete inference.
Another tool that I would use is the cause-effect that has other terms such as the Fishbone, Fishikawa, Ishikawa, and Herringbone. Here, the different causes are categorized into groups using pointers in the diagram showing how the causes move towards the unconventionality. These classes are not distinct, but respective groups consist of apparatus, approaches, dimensions, resources, surroundings, and persons. Basically, this tool is a causal procedure and strives for understanding the likely reasons by querying interrogations like “what happened in reality,” “at that time,” “wherever,” “why,” “in what way,” and “so what” till a conceivable reason is acknowledged, and the outcome and implication is scrutinized for each group.
I would employ the five why’s when addressing a problem to do with daily sales if there are reduced sales than other times. This way, I will b.

It notes that these techniques allow for animals to be raised in disease-free environments at lower costs and risk while enhancing production and viability. However, it also acknowledges that some people have concerns about the safety of food from animals raised using these technologies.
This document discusses self-efficacy in technology adoption, specifically among farmers. It defines technology adoption as the cognitive, evaluative, and psychomotor processes involved in understanding and using new technologies. Characteristics of self-efficacious individuals are described, such as strong beliefs in their capabilities and ability to monitor internal/external factors, regulate goals, learn from experiences, and control physiological states. Measures of self-efficacy are provided relating to monitoring uncertainty, mastery experiences, self-regulation, vicarious learning, and controlling emotions.

What Biology Can Teach Us About Growth
1. What Biology Can Teach
Us About Growth
Based on Research from Edward Hess, University of Virginia (“Grow to Greatness)
with additional notes (no copyright infringement intended)
Powerpoint Created by The Supernova Advisory Group
2. Lesson #1
In Biology, growth is not maximized in order to increase chances of survival
Converse of traditional business model of “Grow or Die”
3. Lesson #2
Increase in the size of an organism sometimes increases risk of it being eaten
by predators
Predators typically prefer the biggest prey
As species gets larger, they are easier to see and cannot move or respond as fast
Growth can create survival risks, leading to conclusion being bigger not always
better
4. Lesson #3
Many organisms have a finite amount of expendable energy and therefore,
must allocate that energy across competing functions:
Reproduction- the natural process among organisms by which new individuals are
generated and the species perpetuated
Growth- an increase in size, number or significance; a stage of development
Maintenance- care or upkeep, as of machinery or property; means of upkeep,
support, or subsistence; livelihood
Survival- the act or fact of surviving, especially under adverse or unusual
circumstances; a person or thing that endures
As a result, at any given time there is a limit to the amount of energy available for
growth.
Organizations must have excess managerial capacity in order to grow (effectively).
5. Lesson #4
Growth requires trade-offs, resulting in periods of growth and periods of no
growth
Growth is not linear and not continuous without there being a compromise in the
presentation of earnings, value of assets, reserves and other valuation methods
6. Lesson #5
In plants there appears to be two different strategies:
Growth dominated plants- invest their energy in growth processes
Example: Walmart
Strategy consistent with “Grow, Grow, Grow”
Other Plants- invest in processes to differentiate themselves
Example: Apple
Strategy consistent with Seth Godin’s “Purple Cow” argument
Consistent with business theory that businesses can either be high-volume or niche
players.
Either strategy is not good or bad, just need to be sure which one your business or
organization competes in and spend resources on that strategy.
7. Lesson #6
Growth can be continuous or not, determinate or not, but few things in
nature can grow without limit
8. Why Consider These Lessons?
Growth must be explored and exploited but not at the
detriment of a company’s:
People: human capital and potential
Processes: systems (such as procedures) setup to
ensure consistency and effective utilization of
resources
Controls: governance tools setup to maintain integrity
and accountability
9. Get Your Growth Checklist
Contact us to get our “Growth Checklist” that is based on these lessons from
“What Biology Can Teach Us About Growth” and includes exercises for your
management team to consider where your company resources are being
utilized (reproduction, growth, maintenance and/or survival)
