It doesn't make a difference if we are identifying customers, employees, investors or suppliers. We are always thinking of the future as the main driver for our work. Being successful is not a cause of reaction, but of action towards a certain goal. To understand what we are thinking of, we want to share a few slides from our series A pitchdeck with you.
HomeRoots Pitch Deck | Investor Insights | April 2024
Our vision of the future and how we will build it.
1.
2. The World today
Today, the internet is everywhere. It is the centerpiece of our
global connectivity. It has democratized knowledge, created
new markets and changed the power equation.
But we see that these ideals are in danger. Who builds, owns
and controls what we call the net? Giant corporations and
big governments. Why shouldn’t the users be the ones building and owning these networks?

3. Our Vision of the Future
The reason is simple – complexity. Just as mainframes were
impossible to run and maintain by private persons, servers
and infrastructure components today are unmanageable by
the common user. Make building and owning these things as
fun and simple as using an iPhone - and the paradigms shift.
We will be the company to enable this idea. The cloud as it
is now is just the status quo. One day, it will be personal and
it will be owned by every single one of us. We are aiming to
bring a piece of infrastructure into every company, into every
home. And we’ve got help!

4. Three forces are transforming the digital world today
First Force: A connected world
The use of technology is moving from niches to broad
parts of our society. The adoption of social features
is producing increasing amounts of relevant data and
will be the default in all interactions.
Second Force: Constant threats
Huge amounts of data are like honey-pots, not only
for governments but also for criminals. Data scandals
will increase and users will react, both rationally and
irrationally.
04

Third Force: Data centers in our pockets
Moore‘s law will continue to shrink the cost and size
of hardware. The computing power of yesterday‘s
server racks will fit into something that is as big as a
smartphone tomorrow.
6. The Personal Cloud will only be
possible if the infrastructure becomes
very simple and very sexy.
7. This is our first Move

that pays as much attention to detail as
Protonet, is Apple [...] with the new software release, Protonet makes services
like Yammer look outdated.“

The personal server
Cloud
SERVER / NAS
Protonet is a one-button social infrastructure. It can be set
up in three minutes and combines a fully grown intelligent
server with a couple of collaboration features that have
been proven to make teams work faster and more efficient. It’s highly encrypted but still accessible anywhere and
anytime from any device without installation.
We are taking the best of the collaboration and NAS space
and are integrating them in one interface and making it
work together seamlessly. In other words: we are aggregating the top-20 % and are putting them together in the best
possible way.
Soon, Protonet will be offering a market place for thirdparty apps. Customers will be able to make the Personal
Server even more personal. Add apps to it to make it work
for your purpose.

Protonet for mobile devices:
We aim to make mobile devices first-class citizens
in the Protonet world.
Network effects:
Protonet is already valuable when one out of two
partners working together owns a box. We aim to
design interactions that let the value grow exponentially the more companies own a box.
