To argue whether school organisation has the characteristics of social system or natural system. Based on theoretical explanations we come to the conclusion: school organization is considered both as social system and natural system as it provides for societal needs (educating function) and at the same time it is a natural bureaucratic entity as it fulfills the needs of its organizational members

The students should have the opportunity to acquire not only the subject knowledge to economically sustain their livelihood, but also take part in building an equitable and sustainable peaceful society. They should be able to avoid emotionally expensive and professionally disastrous circumstances with relative ease if they are given the correct tools and wisdom to take over the steering wheel of their life journey. The content of the subject knowledge acts as the bearer of the educator’s life lessons and wisdom, which in turn is the essence of the knowledge that students receive.
An educational system should invoke and awaken the seeker in every soul. The educational process helps students formulate their lives’ cardinal rules which will guide them for years to come to be bonafide citizens of this world. Unfortunately, we have experienced that many individuals even with the highest accolades fail to perform as authentic citizens of our highly delicate societal framework. These individuals without the preparation to be a part of this society are prone to bring chaos and instability to society. Sometimes they even harm our global system to an extent that takes decades to repair.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

What is the role of school in society?
1. What is the role of school in
society?
A Study of Education in a World Beginning to Forget the Importance of
Learning by Avalon Johnson
2. What is the role of school in society?
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." -Proverbs 4:7
The Lord wants His children to be wise and understanding, and schools in society are an important asset to achieve this
goal, because they teach children from a young age, and endorse learning.
"Part of what is at risk is the promise first made on this continent: All, regardless of race or class or economic status, are
entitled to a fair chance and to the tools for developing their individual powers of mind and spirit to the utmost. This
promise means that all children by virtue of their own efforts, competently guided, can hope to attain the mature and
informed judgment needed to secure gainful employment, and to manage their own lives, thereby serving not only
their own interests but also the progress of society itself." -Reading 24: A Nation At Risk
3. What is the role of school in society?
• Help students identify their interests and abilities
• Support students in setting personal learning goals
• Facilitate student involvement and learning in decision-making regarding their own learning and the use of power and
responsibility in the classroom and school
• Create a culture of care and community where students learn to support one another and take responsibility for the
well being of each other and the total community
• Facilitate students learning together in a diverse groups where they learn how to value contributions of others and
manage productive group work
• Teach students who are functioning at many differing levels of ability together in heterogeneous mixes
• Assess student skills and learning styles to facilitate learning and promote personal excellence
4. Why is the public's support for education "the most powerful tool at hand", as
stated by the article A Nation At Risk?
Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. -Doctrine and Covenants
130:18
The public's support for education is a contributing factor in this gospel principle. It makes education easier to obtain,
and helps us to understand the importance of knowledge and learning. This is not only religious, but applies to all
knowledge.
I think it's the most powerful tool at hand because if society, the public, supports it, it will create future leaders and
examples, and allow people to learn easier. The public understands the need for education and will support it
financially if needed, as well as in their communities. It is also very reassuring to see the public united and working
together on a common interest.
If the public supports education, they support and trust their government. It's likened to patriotism.
5. Why is the public's support for education "the most powerful tool at hand", as
stated by the article A Nation At Risk?
The most recent (1982) Gallup Poll of the Public’s Attitudes Toward the Public Schools strongly supported a theme heard
during our hearings: People are steadfast in their belief that education is the major foundation for the future strength of this
country. They even considered education more important than developing the best industrial system or the strongest
military force, perhaps because they understood education as the cornerstone of both. It also held that education is
“extremely important” to one’s future success, and that public education should be the top priority for additional Federal
funds. Education occupied first place among 12 funding categories considered in the survey, above health care, welfare,
and military defense, with 55 percent selecting public education as one of their first three choices. Very clearly, the public
understands the primary importance of education as the foundation for a satisfying life, an enlightened and civil society, a
strong economy, and a secure Nation.
-A Nation At Risk: The Public's Commitment
6. If education is so vital to our society and nation, why have people corrupted it?
Several reasons may include, but are not limited to:
HATE
RACISM
POWER
CONTROL
PEER PRESSURE
WAR
RECOGNITION
PRIDE
7. If education is so vital to our society and nation, why have people corrupted it?
Here are some quotes from known dictators and corrupters of learning. It's thoughts and views like
these that corrupt education in the world:
“Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed. “
-Joseph Stalin
“...whoever has the youth has the future.”
-Adolf Hitler on Education
“Youth belongs to us and we will yield them to no one.”
- Joseph Goebbels, head of Nazi propaganda
8. If education is so vital to our society and nation, why have people corrupted it?
For that exact reason. They know how vital to society education is, and they know if they control it,
they control society. They see it as a tool to create soldiers.
Education is a fundamental unit of society, and not only in society.Children are influenced heavily by
education, and are especially affected by the way that it is taught. It is part of the foundation
that they are building that will determine how they live their lives, and what kind of citizens they
will one day inevitably be. It is also fundamental for them and their growth.
A great example of this was Hitler. He rounded up the children in his country and had them
brainwashed, physically trained for combat, and spoonfed lies and the dictator’s own poisonous
beliefs and views. He loved education because it helped him train little Nazis for his new
regime.
Another example I can think of would be that of the Invisible Children scattered across Africa, the
Middle East, Columbia, and parts of South Asia. These children are forced to watch their
family’s murder in front of them, then are brainwashed to become military killers, as well as sex
9. If education is so vital to our society and nation, why have people corrupted it?
"Reverse Racism is prevalent in public schools… it goes unnoticed, unpunished, and ignored, and when kids see one kid
get away with something, it's a chain reaction and suddenly all the other kids are permitted to do so too."
To conclude: Maybe it's not that they knowingly corrupted it, but due to laziness and lack of action, they enhanced the
damage that was already being made.
Education does not profit the child if the child believes the learning environment is dangerous.
“Bullying can lead to physical injury, social problems, emotional problems, and even death. Children and adolescents who
are bullied are at increased risk for mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, headaches, and problems
adjusting to school. Bullying also can cause long-term damage to self-esteem.”
10. If education is so vital to our society and nation, why have people corrupted it?
"And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to
understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the
Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents."-D&C 68:
I think this can apply in the government and general education as well. The Lord wants His children to learn, and it's the
responsibility of the government to ensure that as much as the parents'. If the government takes away the rights of
the parents to teach their children, like what Hitler did in taking them away from their homes for schooling, I'm sure
that will be yet another sin upon their head. If the schools do not protect the children they are accountable, I believe it
will also stand against them in the last day.
11. How can we actively help our nation in this educational epidemic?
Articles of Faith 12 and 13 state:
“We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining
the law.” “We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we
may say that we follow the admonition of Paul— We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many
things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy,
we seek after these things.”
As stated in Articles of Faith, we believe in being subject to presidents(and other political leaders) and we sustain, honor,
andobey them, as we do with the laws that are set. It is also stated thatwe seek anything virtuos, lovely, of good
report and/or praiseworthy. This belief is fundamental to this question, I believe, because Gospel Principles and
Laws make it possible for us to be happy, and this law promotes sustaining the government, but also seeking after
precious things, which reminds me of how God asks us to constantly acquire knowledge, and I think those
descriptions describe knowledge also, as it fits the requirements of things to seek after.
12. How can we actively help our nation in this educational epidemic?
"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:" -Proverbs
1:5
I can see how this would apply here, and we can apply it easily to this topic. A wise man or woman will try and hear and
understand what education is and what it means for them as well as their children so they can be more active and
productive in community counsels.
When I'm a teacher, if I see bullying, I'm taking a stand and writing the kid's parents and sending him to the principal's
office, because there are so few people who would make an example of that, who'd actively stand against it in a
school, because they ‘re afraid of the parents’ reaction and/or simply don’t want to put forth the effort.
We can actively help by learning about education and studying it, in order to understand its importance. If we understand
something, we care a lot more about it, and we try to actively protect it in any way we can.
13. In Conclusion
Education is very important in the growth of children, helping them learn and develop their skills as well as their
intelligence; it is something that is fundamental to our society, and is one of the most important things, a common
interest, to all people in the nation.
It is a basic human right.
We must remember to, as a public, always care for the education of the rising generations. If we support education, we
support our government, and help it to stand for our rights and promote freedom. Educational concern is a sort of
patriotism.
Dictators try to control it to gain power, because they know if they control that vital asset, they control the rising
generations and future of the government. They use these children more as tools of war and the state, and have no
care for their individuality and personal intellectual needs.
We must actively seek knowledge, and seek to protect it.
