The term cloud computing is used extensively as a flexible and cost effective IT solution for many organisations. What does this mean in real terms? This session will demonstrate the growing importance of cloud as a delivery model for research, teaching, learning and organisational efficiency. It aims to show the positive impact of using cloud services - making supercomputing widely available, accelerating, and democratising research, offering new platforms for productivity and flexible storage and resilience – and Jisc’s work to support its usage, through shared data centre facilities, national agreements, and cost effective services. You’ll also get chance to see what new and enhanced services are in the pipeline.
