What is Promotion
 Promotion means advancement within an organization.
 It is an upward movement of an employee from current
job to another that is higher in pay, responsibility,
status and organizational level.
 The new job will be promotion only if entails increased
responsibilities and enhanced pay.
Promotion
Promotion has an inbuilt motivational value i.e. it elevates
the status and power of an employee within an organization.
Definition of Promotion
“A promotion is the transfer of an employee to a job that
pays more money or that enjoys some preferred status”.
“A promotion involves a change from one job to another
that is better in term of status and responsibility.
Purpose of Promotion
 To utilize the skills and knowledge of an employee at
an appropriate level in the organization’s hierarchy.
 To develop a competitive spirit among employees to
acquire skills and abilities required for higher level
jobs.
 To develop competent workforce in order to create an
effective organizational.
 To promote self-development of employees and reduce
labour turnover.
 To boost confidence, loyalty and morale of the
employee.
 To achieve employee satisfaction by rewarding
committed and hardworking employees.
Important of Promotion
Promotion is a key element in putting across the benefits of
your product or service to the customers. Well-designed
marketing and promotional strategies ensure long-term
success, bring in more customers and ensure profitability for
businesses.
Important of Business Promotion
Small and medium-sized businesses really need to
understand the importance of promotional and marketing
strategies. Business promoting is an active process which
needs to be very closely scrutinized for obtaining the best
results. You can utilize the manpower that you have to the
fullest and come up with strategies to promote your business
and let it flourish.
Promotional strategies and marketing go hand in hand.
Marketing your brand or product will include different
aspects of manufacturing, promoting and selling products to
the customers.
Promotion is a key element in putting across the benefits of
your product or service to the customers. Well-designed
marketing and promotional strategies ensure long-term
success, bring in more customers and ensure profitability for
businesses.
Demotion
 Demotion refers to the lowering down of the status.
Salary and responsibility of an employee.
 Demotion is just opposite to promotion.
“Demotion is a shift to a position in which responsibilities
are decreased promotion is, in a sense, an increase in rank
and demotion is decrease in rank”.
Conclusion
The results shows that there is some degree of correlation
exist in perceived performance and employee’s promotion
practices. Regression tells us that whether there is a
moderate correlation existing between these two
variables. After analyzing the results we came to
conclusion that a moderate relationship exist in perceived
performance and employee’s promotion practices.

What is Promotion  Promotion means advancement within an organization.  It is an upward movement of an employee from current job to another that is higher in pay, responsibility, status and organizational level.  The new job will be promotion only if entails increased responsibilities and enhanced pay. Promotion Promotion has an inbuilt motivational value i.e. it elevates the status and power of an employee within an organization. Definition of Promotion “A promotion is the transfer of an employee to a job that pays more money or that enjoys some preferred status”. “A promotion involves a change from one job to another that is better in term of status and responsibility. Business promoting is an active process which needs to be very closely scrutinized for obtaining the best results. You can utilize the manpower that you have to the fullest and come up with strategies to promote your business and let it flourish. Promotional strategies and marketing go hand in hand. Marketing your brand or product will include different aspects of manufacturing, promoting and selling products to the customers. Promotion is a key element in putting across the benefits of your product or service to the customers.   • 6.  Demotion refers to the lowering down of the status. Salary and responsibility of an employee.  Demotion is just opposite to promotion. “Demotion is a shift to a position in which responsibilities are decreased promotion is, in a sense, an increase in rank and demotion is decrease in rank”.
  • 7. Conclusion The results shows that there is some degree of correlation exist in perceived performance and employee’s promotion practices. Regression tells us that whether there is a moderate correlation existing between these two variables. After analyzing the results we came to conclusion that a moderate relationship exist in perceived performance and employee’s promotion practices.
