that the two party system is ideal for America. He begins by stating that
polarization is bad for elites, as it leaves little to no room for self styled players . He
then suggests that the two party system is beneficial for voters, insisting that having
clearly labeled candidates creates a menu that allows the masses to know what they re

Cener E. et. al. (2015) conducted a study The Impact of ICT on Pupils Achievement
and Attitudes in Social Studies. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of
teaching social studies with the help of CT on pupils achievement in social studies. A
history, geography and culture oriented theme was selected from the social studies
curriculum for the research, Turks on the Silk Road. A multimedia CD,
documentaries, PowerPoint and so on were used to teach social studies to 6th
graders. The research design of the study is quasi experimental. Three different
research tools were used to collect data: an academic achievement test, an attitude
measurement scale on social studies education and an attitude measurement scale on
ICT. When achievement post test scores were treated as dependent variable in
blockwise regression analysis the followings are found: Pupils attitudes towards the
subject and ICT do not have an effect on their post test achievement scores. However,

Children cannot develop a moral compass unless people around them use the clear,
sharp language of right and wrong. I agree with this totally. Never should anyone
have cause to curse at their children. I have always told my children cursing is a
sign of poor communication skills. I have never spoken to my children like a

In March 1906, Tennessee native Ed Johnson was sentenced to death for the rape of
eighteen year old Nevada Taylor. Mr. Johnson supposedly choked the victim with a
leather strap and subsequently sexually assaulted her. When testifying, the woman
only had one adjective to describe the perpetrator, a word that damned the twenty six
year old to a guilty verdict; black. Although he had never been in possession of a
leather strap, had a sound alibi verified by countless testimonies, and the rape victim
never definitively identified Mr. Johnson during the trial, the all white jury came to
the conclusion that the African American man was undeniably responsible for the
cold blooded atrocity. A day later, while sitting in his cell, a mob of white men
dragged Ed Johnson out of the jailhouse, paraded him around the streets, and
ultimately hanged the guiltless man at Walnut Street Bridge. The men then began to
fire round after round at his lifeless body for the amusement of townsfolk who had
gathered to watch the lynching, until, one stray bullet severed the rope, (Yellin 1). As
the bloody corpse fell to the ground to the delight of the white children, one of the
men put the barrel of his gun to Mr. Johnson s head and fired five times, (Yellin 1).
The men faced no charges and nearly one hundred years later the Supreme Court

The Old Man and the Sea is a fictional story written by Ernest Hemingway about an
elderly Cuban fisherman named Santiago, who ventures out to sea to catch fish to
