The document discusses Agile methodology, which involves breaking projects into stages, constant collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement through iterations. It originated from the Agile Manifesto developed by 17 people in 2001 focusing on delivering value through working software and customer collaboration over processes. Common Agile frameworks today include Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, and Adaptive Project Framework. In summary, Agile methodology is a process for managing projects through constant iteration and collaboration to fully meet customer needs.
The agile model is an incremental software development model where testing is done after each release to ensure software quality. It allows for changes to be implemented at low cost by rolling back work done in previous sprints. Some advantages are flexibility to changing requirements, ability to incorporate last minute changes, and satisfied customers through iterative releases. Communication between developers and customers is emphasized over process. Potential disadvantages include lack of documentation and difficulty estimating efforts for large projects initially.
The document discusses continuous application delivery (CAD) and how DevOps principles enable it. It describes breaking down silos, automating processes, and collaborating as a unified team. The CAD maturity model scores organizations on agile delivery practices like continuous integration, automated testing, and self-service tools. Highly mature organizations implement patterns like trunk-based development, automated testing and deployment, and decoupling database changes.

AGILE METHODOLOGIES PRESENTATION BY OLIVER TORRES1410166
The document discusses various agile development methodologies. It begins by describing agile models as iterative and incremental software development approaches that rely on collaboration between developers and users. It then discusses the Agile Manifesto, which established 12 principles to guide agile software development. Specific agile methodologies like Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum are described. XP focuses on early delivery of working software through practices like pair programming and testing. Scrum uses short cycles called sprints to incrementally develop working software increments for review.
Unlike the Waterfall method, Agile Testing can begin at the start of the project with continuous integration between development and testing.
Agile Testing methodology is not sequential (in the sense it’s executed only after coding phase) but continuous.
Agile is an iterative development methodology, where requirements evolve through collaboration between the customer and self-organizing teams and agile aligns development with customer needs.

1. Explain agile methodology.
Agile methodology is a software development paradigm that emphasizes iterative and incremental development. The agile strategy is based on delivering a product in tiny operational increments or builds. Every program built is a better and more advanced version of the previous one. The development team and stakeholders are constantly collaborating on enhancements and changes in requirements.
Alternatively, we can describe the agile approach as the process of continuously providing functioning software while maintaining regular communication with stakeholders in order to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. How many types of Agile Methodologies are there? Enumerate them.
Agile Methodologies are classified into seven different types. They are:
• Scrum
• Kanban
• Extreme Programming
• Feature-Driven Development (FDD)
• Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM)
• Lean
• Crystal
3. What are the merits and demerits of the agile technique?
The following are some of the most noteworthy benefits of the agile methodology:
• Agile software development is one of the quickest and most flexible methodologies available.
• During the development phase, customers might adjust their needs at any time.
• It largely focuses on the software product's regular release. As a result, clients have the opportunity to see the product in its early stages of development.
• Customers have the option of providing comments on any working deliverable they receive.
• Because the development team focuses on creating a product that matches the customer's needs, this strategy ensures customer happiness.
• It focuses mostly on the product's good design.
Agile development focuses on individuals and interactions, working software, customer collaboration, and responding to change. It values adaptability, incremental delivery, and close communication between developers and business stakeholders. Popular agile methods include eXtreme Programming (XP), Scrum, Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), and Agile Unified Process (AUP). They emphasize iterative development, minimal planning, rapid delivery of working software, and flexibility to changing requirements.
Why agile is best for managing projects in principle but not always in practiceGlen Alleman
The document discusses the principles of agile project management and argues that while agile principles are good in theory, they are not always practical to implement. It outlines the 12 principles of the Agile Manifesto which focus on satisfying customers, welcoming changing requirements, frequent delivery of working software, collaboration between business and development teams, self-organizing motivated individuals, sustainable development pace, working software as a progress measure, face-to-face conversation, technical excellence, simplicity, self-organizing teams, and regular reflection and adaptation. However, it notes that in practice, principles may not leave teams better off, ensure improvements, or provide clear guidance for different contexts.

Agile software development is a group of software development methods in which requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams. It promotes adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, continuous improvement, and encourages rapid and flexible response to change.
The Agile development model is also a type of Incremental model. Software is developed in incremental, rapid cycles. This results in small incremental releases with each release building on previous functionality. Each release is thoroughly tested to ensure software quality is maintained. It is used for time critical applications.

systems development life cycle or SDLC is also referred as the
application development life-cycle, is a term used in systems engineering,
information systems and software engineering to describe a process for
planning, creating, testing, and deploying an information system.
SDLC provides a series of steps to be followed to design and
develop a software product efficiently. SDLC framework includes
the following steps: Communication, requirement gathering,Feasibility study,
system analysis, software design,coding,testing,integration, implementation,
operation and maintainance, disposition
Role of QA in project development:
QA team is responsible for monitoring the process to be carried out for development.
-> Responsibilities of QA team are planning testing execution process.
-> QA Lead creates the time tables and agrees on a Quality Assurance plan for the product.
-> QA team communicated QA process to the team members.
-> QA team ensures traceability of test cases to requirements.
Quality Assurance Group’s role is to guarantee that the product is of high quality.
They examine the overall s/w development process and their responsibility
is to create and enforce standards and methods to improve it with the goal
of preventing bugs from ever occurring
Agile came about as a “solution” to the disadvantages of the waterfall methodology.
Instead of a sequential design process, the Agile methodology follows an incremental
approach. Developers start off with a simplistic project design, and then begin to
work on small modules.
Agile software development is based on an incremental, iterative approach.
Its methodologies are open to changing requirements over time and encourages constant
feedback from
the end users. Cross-functional teams work on iterations of a product over a period
of time, and this work is organized into a backlog thatis prioritized based on business
or customer value. The goal of each iteration is to produce a working product.
I think Agile method is suitable for for making this app as it:
->Welcomes changing requirements, even late in development. Agile processes harness
change for the customer’s competitive advantage.
->Deliver working software frequently,
from a couple of weeks to a couple of months, with preference to the shorter timescale..

Unit testing is a software testing technique where individual components or modules are tested separately. It helps validate sections of code by considering stubs, mock objects, drivers, and unit testing frameworks. This allows bugs to be identified and fixed early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Skipping unit testing leads to higher defect fixing costs later on. There are three main types of unit testing: white box, black box, and gray box. Unit testing is typically performed by software developers and helps improve code design.
User testing is a process that is used to test the interface and functions of a website, application, mobile app or service. User testing is one important testing method that is performed by a group of real users to get an overview or understanding about the product.

UI5con 2024 - Bring Your Own Design SystemPeter Muessig
How do you combine the OpenUI5/SAPUI5 programming model with a design system that makes its controls available as Web Components? Since OpenUI5/SAPUI5 1.120, the framework supports the integration of any Web Components. This makes it possible, for example, to natively embed own Web Components of your design system which are created with Stencil. The integration embeds the Web Components in a way that they can be used naturally in XMLViews, like with standard UI5 controls, and can be bound with data binding. Learn how you can also make use of the Web Components base class in OpenUI5/SAPUI5 to also integrate your Web Components and get inspired by the solution to generate a custom UI5 library providing the Web Components control wrappers for the native ones.

Measures in SQL (SIGMOD 2024, Santiago, Chile)Julian Hyde
SQL has attained widespread adoption, but Business Intelligence tools still use their own higher level languages based upon a multidimensional paradigm. Composable calculations are what is missing from SQL, and we propose a new kind of column, called a measure, that attaches a calculation to a table. Like regular tables, tables with measures are composable and closed when used in queries.
SQL-with-measures has the power, conciseness and reusability of multidimensional languages but retains SQL semantics. Measure invocations can be expanded in place to simple, clear SQL.
To define the evaluation semantics for measures, we introduce context-sensitive expressions (a way to evaluate multidimensional expressions that is consistent with existing SQL semantics), a concept called evaluation context, and several operations for setting and modifying the evaluation context.
