Wiki- Digipak is a patented style of compact disc or DVD packaging Digipaks typically consist
of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic
Trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside.
DVD Digipaks can apply to all types of media entertainment such as; Films, TV shows,
Games, Music or even books. Digipaks are a great way for Artists to create a sense of
personalisation with the audience, as within the pack it may include special features such as –
interviews, live gigs and exclusive tracks in which the consumer may not have been able to
access via the internet or other resources. This also helps promote the production of Digipaks
as they include a lot of exclusive information and this becomes exciting for fans of the
particular artist.
The basic structure and design of a Digipak will include a CD as the central base of the
packing, a booklet or poster- which can usually be found within the left inside fold of the case
and also a DVD which can be found either next to the CD or as part of a separate packing
within the Digipak.

As the tone and mood of my copyright free track
is based on the rock/alternative genre, I will need
to consider the design of my Digipak to suit the
representation of the band. The ideas for my music video
may also play a key feature in the design so I can even
consider using stills from my music video in order to
convey the style from the track.
The initial design I would like to create for my Digipak
would be an Integral booklet design because I think this
design is simplistic and eye-catching for potential
consumers.
