5G will not only affirm the critical role of mobility in our connected world but also expand it, laying the groundwork for a fourth industrial revolution. "This revolution will be powered by technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, the Internet of Things, automation, advanced robotics and drones, among many others with the potential to remake virtually every facet of our society," notes Top Nonprofits (March 22, 2019).
Current networks cannot always meet consumer demands for data. "During periods of heavy use, consumers may experience slow speeds, unstable connections, delays, or loss of service. The effects can range from annoyances like a streaming movie freezing to life-threatening transmission delays between first responders in an emergency."
For instance, "in the health care sector, 5G could enable services such as remote patient monitoring, consultation, and even remote surgery. In transportation, 5G will be the backbone that autonomous vehicles rely on. A 2017 study from Deloitte estimated, 'self-driving cars enabled by wireless connectivity could reduce emissions by 40-90%, travel times by nearly 40% and delays by 20%.'”

The more people have been able to achieve while on the move, the more dependent society has become on mobile broadband networks. As applications like self-driving vehicles and remotely operated machinery evolve, become more innovative, and more widespread, the level of performance that 5G networks need to deliver will inevitably rise. Keeping pace with ever-increasing demand calls for greater flexibility in all parts of the network, which in turn requires tight integration between 5G radio, transport networks, and cloud infrastructures.
Mobile Network Operators need to continuously expand capacity to meet the rapid growth in mobile data consumption. Crucially, this extra capacity needs to be delivered where demand arises, including deep indoors and in areas that are covered by fewer mobile radio sites. While substantial amounts of mid-bands spectrum and high-band spectrum are becoming available, the gap in the amount between low-band (sub-1 GHz) and mid-bands is increasing.

5G network is here and set to change our world for the better. It is true that 5G represents the fifth generation of mobile networks, but it is so much more than just another ‘G’. Read more
5G–“connect anytime, anywhere, anyhow” promising everywhere network access at high speed to the end users, has been a topic of great interest mainly for the wireless telecom industry. 5G seems to be the solution for the growing user necessities of wireless broadband access and the boundaries of the existing wireless communication system. The wireless industry is busy with the standardization of the 4th generation (4G) cellular networks. 4G wireless system cannot exist in today’s market without standardization. The 4G concept shave already moved to the standardization phase, we must begin to work on the structure blocks of the 5G wireless networks. The major difference, from a user point of view, between current generations and expected 5G techniques must be something else than increased maximum throughput; other requirements include low battery consumption, more secure. We refer to this goal as enabling the 4A’s paradigm i.e. Any rate, Anytime, Anywhere and Affordable. In particular, this paper focuses on the features such as broadband internet in mobile phones with a possibility to provide internet facility in the computer by just connecting the mobile and with a speed of 10Gbps and more. In 5G researches are being made on development of World Wide Wireless Web (WWWW), Dynamic Adhoc Wireless Networks (DAWN) and Real Wireless World.
The fifth generation (5G) technologies ushering in a new era of digital transformation across industries. With the promise of extreme bandwidth ( nearly 100 times faster than 4G),
ultra-low latency, high levels of security and reliability, 5G holds the promise to transform industries in ways we’re just
beginning to comprehend. The 5G technologies will change the way we connect, consume information and work. More importantly, it brings new capabilities to businesses, enabling them to deliver ground breaking solutions that reach across societies. This whitepaper provides a brief discussion on 5G technologies and importance of precise synchronization to enable 5G technologies for business transformation.
This e Book highlights perspectives on the new 5G technology , use cases , business models and its revolutionary impact on Telecom industry and society at large.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

2. IntroductionAbout5GNetwork
The early cellular phones humans were introduced with were analog radio
devices which would connect to a local tower that oversaw a fixed area, or
“cell”, on a dedicated frequency. At that time, the radio-frequency or RF
technology was the same as that powering walkie-talkies. However the
trick here was in figuring out how to connect the walkie-talkie to the
circuit-switched phone network.
At that time, call capacity was limited since we had only so many slices of
frequency into which one could divide spectrum before they ran into
quality issues. Consequently, early cell phones and their related service
plans were extremely expensive and generally limited to wealthy moguls
like the fictional Gordon Gekko from the movie Wall Street.

3. TheHistory
Back then, there were two competing methods on how to do this. The first
method was called Time-Division Multiple Access or TDMA. With TDMA,
one could have multiple users share the same frequency by dividing the
signal into fixed time slots that were assigned to each active user.
