Photography is the art of capturing images by recording light on a light-sensitive medium such as film or electronic sensors, with the first pinhole camera invented around 1015 and the first photograph taken in 1827. In 1839, Louis Daguerre invented the daguerreotype process which produced clear, highly detailed images on silver-plated copper sheets by exposing them in a camera and developing the latent images with mercury vapor.
