2019 REVALUATION UPDATE
“We Value Mecklenburg County”
The 2011 Revaluation brought about many concerns from our citizens and
elected officials.
In response to those concerns:
• The Board of County Commissioners overhauled the Board of Equalization & Review
• County Manager’s Office and the Board of County Commissioners appropriated new positions and
additional money to support the department
• A permanent Revaluation Division was established to coordinate future revaluations
• CAO written policies & procedures have been updated or created
• CAO community presentations to inform and answer questions for our community
• Updated and streamlined CAO website: MeckReval.com
• Increased customer service & professional training for staff

  • 3. 2019 REVALUATION UPDATE “We Value Mecklenburg County” The 2011 Revaluation brought about many concerns from our citizens and elected officials. In response to those concerns: • The Board of County Commissioners overhauled the Board of Equalization & Review • County Manager’s Office and the Board of County Commissioners appropriated new positions and additional money to support the department • A permanent Revaluation Division was established to coordinate future revaluations • CAO written policies & procedures have been updated or created • CAO community presentations to inform and answer questions for our community • Updated and streamlined CAO website: MeckReval.com • Increased customer service & professional training for staff

  1. – Working with PI to establish a public relations plan. The majority of meetings will occur between January, 2018 thru September, 2018, with an average of 10 to 12 meetings per month. We anticipate an approximate total of 100 opportunities to speak to community, civic and professional groups. – A diverse group of citizens from within Mecklenburg County to review the Schedule of Values and report their findings.
