I will hand out paper, pencils, and crayons
1. Look to your left
2. If you are the last row (look at the first row)
3. Write down three words that describe your classmate
Some things to think about when describing your classmate
1. Name
2. A feature you see
3. Something you see (wearing) that may distinguish (separate) him/her from others
4. Draw a picture of your classmate. Be positive, considerate, and kind.
Now, let’s review the directions (Raise your hand if you would like to volunteer to read and review the steps in the activity?)
LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER
Who are we to each other?
ACTIVITY 2
I will hand out paper, pencils, and crayons
Procedures/Steps
1. Starting with the first classmate stand in front of the class and introduce yourself. (Name 3
things that you feel/think best describes you inside and out.)
2. Everyone will look and listen quietly until the student standing is finished. (Remain standing)
3. The student who described you from Activity 1 will write down the e things you say.
4. The student who wrote the description will stand.
5. Walk to the front of the classroom next to the classmate from activity 1.
6. Introduce your classmate again this time reading what you wrote from activity 1 and then what
the student dictated to you.
7. How are the descriptions different-how are they the same. Show the picture you drew of the
student from activity 1.
8. The next student will then begin again with #1.
9. We will continue this activity until we complete the entire row.
10. Now let’s practice and rehearse steps 1-9.

  • 15. LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER Who are you? ACTIVITY 1 I will hand out paper, pencils, and crayons 1. Look to your left 2. If you are the last row (look at the first row) 3. Write down three words that describe your classmate Some things to think about when describing your classmate 1. Name 2. A feature you see 3. Something you see (wearing) that may distinguish (separate) him/her from others 4. Draw a picture of your classmate. Be positive, considerate, and kind. Now, let’s review the directions (Raise your hand if you would like to volunteer to read and review the steps in the activity?)
  • 16. LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER Who are we to each other? ACTIVITY 2 I will hand out paper, pencils, and crayons Procedures/Steps 1. Starting with the first classmate stand in front of the class and introduce yourself. (Name 3 things that you feel/think best describes you inside and out.) 2. Everyone will look and listen quietly until the student standing is finished. (Remain standing) 3. The student who described you from Activity 1 will write down the e things you say. 4. The student who wrote the description will stand. 5. Walk to the front of the classroom next to the classmate from activity 1. 6. Introduce your classmate again this time reading what you wrote from activity 1 and then what the student dictated to you. 7. How are the descriptions different-how are they the same. Show the picture you drew of the student from activity 1. 8. The next student will then begin again with #1. 9. We will continue this activity until we complete the entire row. 10. Now let’s practice and rehearse steps 1-9.

THIS IS YOUR CLASSROOM Our Classroom Was Created Just for You Computer Area Book Shelves/Free Reading Area Cubby Area (Book bags, coats, scarves, Visual Cues Area (homework, reminders, due dates, parent info, take home/return) Resource Area (textbooks, workbooks, manipulatives, worksheets, reference materials, etc.) Supply Area (paper, stapler, tape, glue, calculators, crayons, Markers, etc.) Science Area (aquarium, Gold Fish Bowl, and Guinea Pigs) Language Arts Area (tape recorder, head phones, supplemental readers) RESPECT AND PROTECT EVERYTHING IN YOUR CLASSROOM Let’s discuss what this means to you? What specific limitations or rules can we create to take care of our classroom?

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS Seating arrangements are in rows. Once CLASSROOM RULES AND LIMITATIONS are consistently and successfully performed seating will be rearranged into group clusters You determine when we change to groups. How? Successfully maintaining an orderly and pleasant environment without being reminded. How? Successfully carry out classroom procedures
