Welcome to Mrs. Michael’s Class!
 Students should bring a book bag to school everyday. They will bring
home a daily folder. There will be a Friday White Folder with
important parent information.
 The school will send home a monthly calendar with important dates.
We will also have a class newsletter that comes home every Friday.
 Label all items that your child brings to school with your child’s first
and last name.
 Penn Cambria requires all students at PCPP to have a change of
clothing in school for emergencies/accidents. Please send in pants,
shirt, underwear, socks to school in a Ziploc baggie with your child’s
name.
 Please review the student handbook and parent information folder and
sign all papers that need returned.
 Daily Schedule: Our daily schedule will be sent home.
 We do have snacks in kindergarten. I will send home a calendar for
September. Each child will have approximately one day per month to
bring in a snack for the class. Please review the letter in the white
folder concerning healthy snacks.
 Attendance is extremely important to continue the learning process
and not fall behind. Students are considered Tardy after 9:00am.
 Families are permitted to fill out one vacation form per year.
Approved vacation days are not marked as illegal absences.
 Please send in a WRITTEN EXCUSE for each absence, even if a phone
call is made. This written excuse is required.
 We will be using the Peterson Font of handwriting. A sample will be
sent in the Friday Folder for you to keep at home.
 Please feel free to call during the morning if you have any questions,
or send in a note.
 Our classroom is run in an organized fashion. Students will be learning
responsibility, organization, and academic skills that will help them
become better learners.
 Students are permitted to bring in bottles of WATER only. Please
make sure the bottle is labeled so others don’t drink from it! It is a
good idea to send it in a plastic bag in the book bag in case of leakage.
 Students do not need any school tools. Please keep all
crayons/markers/glue/scissors at home. Consider making a school
area with these supplies.
 Homework is kept to a minimum. Students will have math
HOMELINKS randomly throughout the year. Reading books will come
home approximately once per week. One of the most important things
a family can do is spend time reading together every day!
 If your child forgets the homework, just send it in the next day.
My goal is to have your child enjoy coming to school and expanding their
knowledge. I want to help them become independent learners and at the
same time, create memories!
