3. A four bar chain is the most fundamental of the
plane kinematic chains. It is preferred as a
mechanical device for the mechanism and
control of motion due to simplicity and
versatility.
They are connected in the form of quadrilateral
by four pin joint.
4. A LINK can be defined as a member or a
combination of members of a mechanism,
connecting other members and having relative
motion among them.
Generally the linkages are
1st fixed link
2nd connecting link
3rd crank link
4th rocker
6. Generally we are having the same linkages
combination as shown in video its working...
Two wheels are placed with the correct ratio of
dia.. Or expected ratio...
1st is driving wheel may connected to small
motor or rotated by human effort.
2nd driven wheel or flywheel connected with
belt to driving wheel and also having crank link
connected to the outer rim of wheel.
7. FIXED LINK
It act as a supporting link which is fixed to the
basement, as it also provides the required
movement of rocker arm as shown in video...
Generally the fixed link supports the motion
also with the help of external links it controls
the motion along a direction.
8. CRANK
It is a link which rotate with the rotation of
360degree at one end linked with connecting
rod and other to the wheel as seen in video...
As the wheel rotate the crank rotate and
transmit the rotating power to the connecting
link for further transmission and give out an
output.
9. CONNECTING ROD
As seen in diagram it act as link which transmit
the motion forward to the rocker arm as it is
linked with crank arm.
The rotation of crank gives the motion to the
connecting rod such as oscillating or to and fro
with oscillation.
10. ROCKER ARM OR ROCKER LINK
As the motion is transmitted from connecting
rod the rocker arm further transmit the motion
to the final output.
The motion can be the reciprocating or to and
fro, as per the requirement of application.
11. Generally this four bar chain mechanism is
having lots of application
deep boring machines
In locomotives
hand pump
Crank and slider mechanism used in lathes..
