 Unwanted and irrelevant mail is deleted
 Mail not requiring action but deemed important to keep is archived
 Mail requiring action is prioritized either normal or high

4. Standardize (Seiketsu) – think factory floor
 Daily, not periodic, cleaning (Inbox always in order)
 Work according to JIT
 Empty inbox at end of each day (lowered stress)
 Rigorous method that works in all situations for everyone rather than
individuals reinventing the wheel (ad-hoc)
 I.e. systemized archiving: using “instant” one-folder archiving across
the organization

  1. What is LSS for the knowlege worker? I’m sure you’ve seen lot’s of silly videos on Youtube where they organize a person’s desktop by outlining their tape dispenser with tape. That is not LSS. Let’s not lose sight of what a value add is: It has to transform a process considerably. It has to be done right the first time. The customer has to be willing to pay for it.
