The learning journey undertaken by the Year 3 (Weka) students at Cockle Bay School this year in preparation for Year 4 (Kotuku).

1. Our Weka Journey in 2009

2. Come and share our Weka journey
with us . . . we know the way!

3. We made some new friends and
showed them round the school.

4. We changed into our PE uniform for
the first time - look how WHITE they
are!

5. There were other firsts - we moved
from working on tables to desks.

6. We lined up in two straight lines to
move around the school.

7. We competed in our first Middle
School Swimming Sports.

8. We have been on lots of trips. We
travelled by bus to the StarDome.

9. At MOTAT we travelled by tram.

10. But on the Day Camp we only had
Shanks’s Pony.

11. At least we fueled up (even if we did
have to cook it ourselves!)

12. Lloyd Elsmore was a little easier
- we could use kayaks.

13. Once we had learned how to stay
safe in the water.

14. But then it was back to Shanks’s
Pony again!

15. No wonder we were tired!

16. It’s been busy back at school too.
We’ve had to cook . . .

17. . . . and clean . . .

18. . . . and, of course, shop.

19. While all the time, looking our
absolute best.

20. We have also been busy in the
classroom - programming . . .

21. . . . making things . . .

22. . . . constructing robots . . .

23. . . . doing art . . .

24. . . . and designing comics.

25. In the meantime, we have worn our
junior tunics for the last time. . .

26. We’re ready to blast off into Year 4.
