2. Oh my God! The big day arrived...we are finally in the airport . Waiting for the
plane Bucharest-AMSTERDAM. We can’t believe it! Is it real life or a fantasy...
well, a little of both . We couldn’t wait to meet our hosts for the first time
although we were a bit nervous. The gates opened, that means we are
leaving. Yeeeeeeey!
We even had fun on the plane: we played cards, listened to music, took selfies
and ate lots of food .
3. ARINA
YEEEEY! I am in Amsterdam. I met
Zorana a very nice, cute girl. We went
to a shop full of video games, animes
(Japanese cartoons) and pokemons.
This shop was for me like a little piece
of heaven..
Thanks Zorana for
bringing me in
this
awesome place!
ISABELLA
Finally arrived in Amsterdam. Can’t
believe I met Asli, the most fabulous
girl in the world. We took Francesca, a
cute girl from Italy and we went to
have a drink and enjoy ourselves at a
bar.
The Turkish tea was more than
wonderful.
Thanks Asli!
4. First we had the welcome activities. Erik, the math teacher from Netherlands, made
some nice videos with music from each country, which we enjoyed watching.
After that, we decoded sentences about kids from other countries, for us to know
each other better.
They even prepared some treats for us to celebrate the Pi day.
Then we got to the city center and started the treasure hunt. We tried hard, but
unfortunately we couldn’t finish it . However we enjoyed it.
5. So we got to school at 8:30 a.m. Erik, Bob and the Dutch students prepared 19
funny logical games for us which we had to solve in 6 minutes each.
After that, we went to the Nemo Science Center and had fun trying all the
experiments and games. It is a wonderful place that must be visited.
Omg, our faces !
6. At the Nemo Museum we also did an experiment about brown and green ink
that become blue in the contact with water.
CANAL TOUR
After the visit at Nemo we had a great experience at the canal tour. It was
relaxing and pretty. We had the opportunity to see the most beautiful views.
7. Bowling
We finished and after that we decided to go bowling with almost everyone. We
aren’t good at this. Although we tried hard, we kind of failed, but we made new
friends .
We also had a strike .
Our great shoes .
8. On the fourth day we visited the Boerhaave Museum, where we had another
treasure hunt, but actually this one we finished and to our astonishment, we
won it. It was about working with a special kit full of old mathematical objects.
We really enjoyed it, the same for Escher Museum. There were plenty of optical
illusions and tessellations.
We had lunch in Leiden
9. ARINA
Me and Zorana decided
to make an apple pie.
Everything seemed to
be easy but it wasn’t
! We tried our best
but we couldn’t figure
it out. Anyway it was
really fun to make it !
ISABELLA
Me, Asli, Francesca,
Bruna and Feyza went
to eat something and
then to a beautiful
lake. We relaxed by
walking there and
talking. After this we
met with the other
students and had fun
there .
10. Omg! Contest day ! No, I’m not ready, please! We started the day on
the wrong foot with the Kangoeroe test. But the rest was good: we
did some math challenges with some other kids that were in our
team.
-ARINA was with Juno (Netherlands), Aga (Poland) and Emina
(Netherlands)
-ISABELLA was with Karel (Netherlands), Yani (France) and Joshua
(Netherlands)
-MARIA was with Vibuthi (Netherlands), Francesca (Italy) and Carlos
(Spain)
11. Shopping! Souvenir time! All girls love this including us! We are
ready! We’ve got our list for this and we bought more than enough,
just because we love NETHERLANDS sooooo much!
12. Last day…NO!!! I don’t want to leave!
After we went to the hotel to meet with Emina and Zorana, we said
Goodbye to Asli . Then we went to Van Gogh Museum, where we
saw lots of great paintings, but unfortunately we weren’t aloud to
take pictures of them.
