WEG Electric Corp. has released the W Magnet Drive System, which provides higher efficiency and longer life than standard induction motors. The system incorporates a W Magnet Drive motor controlled by a CFW11 variable frequency drive. Compared to standard induction motors, the W Magnet motor reduces weight by 52% and volume by 47%. It meets NEMA Premium and EPAct High Efficiency standards while providing benefits like extra high efficiency, lower weight and volume, reduced noise, and extended life. The CFW11 drive uses WEG's unique vector control technology for precision control and optimal energy efficiency.

Available immediately, the W Magnet Drive System incorporates the W Magnet Drive inside the motor, which is controlled by the CFW11 variable frequency drive (VFD). Compared to standard induction motors, the W Magnet motor promotes a 52 percent reduction in weight and a 47 percent reduction in volume. The motor is fitted with NdFeB magnets, inserted inside the rotor, instead of conventional aluminum alloy squirrel cages.
