This document discusses the components of a network management system that uses SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). The master agent collects information from sub-agents running on devices and exchanges data with the NMS (Network Management System). The manager controls the network system and communicates with agents using requests and responses. MIB (Management Information Base) defines the properties of the network devices that can be managed using SNMP.
