A webquest is an inquiry-based learning tool that provides students with a task and links to online information to complete that task. It allows students to take responsibility for their own learning. A webquest can be adapted for different class durations and encourages higher-order thinking skills. The teacher provides an engaging real-world scenario and steps for students to complete the task. They include embedded links to guide research while allowing use of other sources. Students are assessed using clear rubrics and present their findings, developing self-evaluation skills. A webquest conclusion has students reflect on their learning and how it relates to other topics.
