Congratulations, you just graduated from a prestigious university with your doctorate degree in genetics. Now, it is time to start your
careers. Well as young geneticists just hired into one of the top research laboratories in North America you figured you had
better chances of making the next big break through by working together. In order to prove you know your way around genetics
decide you want study a sample of about 20 middle school students to see what genetic traits they have inherited. There are three
very important jobs in your researchexperiment. TheOrganizerTheMedia SpecialistTheMathematician Good Luck!
There are four very important tasks for this research. Three tasks will be individual and the one task will be done together The
actual collecting data of the class will be done together as a group, but the preparation and data display is done in
individually. This requires three special jobs, the organizer, the media specialist, and the mathematician. You will see different traits in
the class, record them, analyze the data, and report back to the class on your findings.
You will all three research different traits that would be easily seen in the classroom such as eye color. Then the discuss what would
be the best way to collect and record the data. The organizer will type a clear plan on how this will be done. The media specialist will
obtain and/or create whatever materials and devices necessary for the study. You will then collect the data. Finally, the
mathematician will do the percentages of how many people have what traits. If you have no clue how to collect the data there is a
video on how to make an effective tally chart that you can modify to work for this study. You must pick at least 3 different traits to
survey, but you can chose up to 5. If you do not know where to start go to google see what traits you can find to survey. If you cannot
find anything here is an example of several you could use

The evaluation will come from a rubric which assess your separate self reflection papers on what you learned, on your data collection,
on your execution of your particular job, the overall grade of the entire project, and your ability to work well and effectively in a group.
Although, something may not be specifically your job, but you will want to make sure to help your group mates if they are
struggling because the overall project will effect your grade. Also, if someone does not pull their weight in the project do not be afraid
to include that in your self reflection paper because I will be the only one reading them.
