MWLUG2017 - The Data & Analytics Journey 2.0John Head
The typical perception of Big Data, Analytics, and Predicative/AI is that only the big companies can reap the benefits. Many believe they need a data warehouse, expensive reporting software, & an army of data scientists to get any value out of effort and cost. This session will explore and debunk that myth and showcase how companies of any size can participate. While there are many maturity models available, most are not designed to be practical guides to solving common business problems. Because of the explosion in cloud services, the barrier to entry has eroded significantly. We will look at some practical steps to access these capabilities and provide examples to where market-leading and growth companies have seen large benefits. Attendees will walk away with broader understanding of what’s possible to move their company through the journey in 2017. We will take a close look at IBM Watson solutions and how they integrate with IBM Collaboration and Social solutions.

Four Must-Haves for Data Governance in Financial ServicesPrecisely
Traditional data governance initiatives fail by focusing too heavily on policies, compliance, and enforcement, which quickly lose business interest and support. This leaves CDOs and governance leaders having to continually make the case for data governance to secure business adoption.
In this on-demand webinar, we will share the lean, business-first data governance approach that connects key financial services initiatives to governance capabilities and quickly delivers business value for the long-term.
Collaborate 2018: How to Get Cross Functional Reporting with an Enterprise Da...Datavail
Many organizations not only lack the ability to look at their data across the organization as whole, but often have no lens into the metrics that they need to report against or manage the business of their own departments.
How beneficial would it be to have a central data information repository – we call it an Enterprise Data Warehouse – from which to retrieve accurate data from across all aspects of your business? This presentation explains how this, and more, can be a reality for your business, in a relatively short amount of time.
Achieving Buy In Across Your Organization - SharePoint Saturday Baltimore 2013Adam Levithan
From my experience implementing SharePoint Solutions that Collaboration, as we know it, is focused on encouraging interaction between individuals and teams within an organization to make it successful. Projects tasked with applying this cultural shift into an integrated technical solution, however, usually start with a much narrower focus. Sponsored by executives, managers, IT, front-line staff or a combination of several stakeholders, these projects rarely have simultaneous buy-in from all. This session explores the adoption strategies for each type of stakeholder not originally vested in the projects, presents shortcuts for identifying value, and provides a roadmap for integrating features in SharePoint to enhance your long-term strategy.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule

Also make sure they know that they can start with IT or Internet for example, and add modules as they need them.
Competitive jab: It is the only offering that goes beyond a simple Intranet home page, to provide a structure to build upon.
Use: Intranet or Suite deals only
