Ajax and flash have help with the development of “web 2.0” Benefit of this is different services can be brought together to create apps category called “mashups” Growth helped by the fact authoring content on the web no longer technically demanding

Mashups Is an app that combines multiply data sources An examples is Google maps www.programmableweb.com Recent concept of combining rss with mashups e.g. yahoo pipes
RSS  RSS Icon  Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication Used to get update from sites e.g.. News, whether, articles etc…… Shows signs of more growth
Wikis We page users can edit An example is  www.wikipedia.org Flawed and can be inaccurate
Widgets User interface components of web 2.0 Written using JavaScript Each widget has a dedicated purpose e.g. rss feeds, news updated. OS’S now coming with widgets
Web 2.0 and Social Networks Websites for people to interact with each other E.g. bebo, facebook, myspace Lets people stay in touch over any distance Can share photos, music, videos
 
What is Flickr ? Its free It is a digital photo hosting & sharing service Can host imaged to be used on a website Simple way of sharing photos with people Can create slideshows Organize photos easily
