WARM-UP ACTIVITY: Bring some clothing items to the class such as cardigan, T-shirt, raincoat…. Ask Ss in
which weather they wear them.Draw some signs of weather and ask Ss about them.(Sun, sunny, cloud, rain etc.)
LET’S START:
1. Ss work in pairs to match the seasons in the boxes. They compare their answers with their partners.
Correct any mistakes.
2. Ask Ss their favourite season and the reasons. Help with the vocabulary.
3. Write the adjectives related to weather on the board and project the signs on Tv. Ss match them. Correct any
mistakes.
2. 4. Ss are asked to find the adjectives in pairs. Ask different Ss for answers
READING-LISTENING:
1. Pre- reading questions are asked to the Ss.
A)Where would you like to have your holiday?
B)Where were you on your last holiday?
C)How was the weather?
2. Write the words “Egypt” and “Turkey” on the board. Ss share their ideas in pairs about the weather in these two
countries by looking at the pictures shown on their Ss Books.
3. Play the Cd twice and Ss listen it. Ss answer the questions about the dialogue individually and compare their answer
with their partners. Elicit answers from different Ss. Correct any misunderstanding.
4. Post-reading questions are asked:
A)Would you like to see the Pyramids? Why?
B)What’s the weather like in Turkey?
C)What’s the weather like in Egypt?
LISTENING:
1. Pre-listening questions are asked:
A) Do you always listen to the weather forecast?
B) Do you dress according to the weather reports?
C) Do you think weather reports are always accurate?
2. Ss note down the nouns and adjectives about weather while
listening.(showers-breezy-dry-weak sunshine-thunder-cold)
3. Ss listen again and complete the chart. They check their
answers with their partners. Elicit answers from different
Ss.
3. RODUCTION STAGE:
1. GAME(WEATHER MAZE)
Ss are divided into small groups and all groups are
given a weather maze sheet. By listening the clues
from the teacher, Ss try to reach their houses. The first
team to finish their route is the winner.
(It’s coudy/sunny/rainy etc)
2. WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE
IN………………….?
Ss ask&answer questions in pairs and act out their
dialogues in front of the class according to the
weather forecast projected on Tv.
EVALUATION QUESTIONS:
1. What’s the weather like in London
today?(rainy)
2. How was the weather in İstanbul yesterday?
3. Does it usually rain in Turkey in Autumn? Etc.
