WE ARE THE WILD ONES
Think of Misfits meets Skins

 This show will have all the thrill of the chase and the
mystery but also all the grit and humour of real life:
 A group of terrified friends and a misshapen
stranger find themselves locked in in their own
college over half term only to realise they’re not
alone. Wracked with decisions and the task of
finding a lost soul in the dark hallways, this group
must put their differences aside and find a way to
their friend AND get out without crossing paths with
this ‘wild one’; the local escapee mental patient. Can
they do it before they lose someone else or worse -
come to the realisation that they might not make
  it?
Style?

 The style of this show is mainly drama but has a
  continuous convergence with thriller and
comedy and a minor theme of romance - to
show that even in the direst situations love can
prevail for the softer hearted audience.
 We also hope to include dark sarcastic humour
to the show, meaning the situation could be
really bad but there is also comedic relief; this is
something that is favoured by audiences
through, seen through our research, so it should
  work well.
Intended Audience

 Potentially this show could be made so that the
target audience would have to be of a high age
range however we intend to make it pre-
watershed, thus our aim is for 15-25.
 We hope to make it popular with both genders;
strong female role and romantic sub-plot for
females, lots of action for males and humour for
  all.
 It being pre-watershed almost allows us to be
experimental and creative in how we convey
the darker subjects of the show, which is a great
  opportunity to be different
Format

 Working under E4’s guidelines, in terms of
complying to their demographic - age range
(15-35) and pre-watershed rules - we will be
authorised to have them as our
  distributors.
Duration

 We are going to attempt to have:

 6 episodes in a season
 1 hour long episodes

 ‘short, snappy and powerful’
 Episode 1 (pilot) - Was that a wild one?:
 In the society and town that these students
live in they are situated very close to a mental
institution and the local nickname for these
patients are: ‘wild ones’. Finding themselves
trapped in their college through half term the
students learn that the escapee patient that
was broadcasted in the news a week ago is in
  there with them.
 Episode 2 - We are the trapped:
 With the realisation that they are trapped this
episode goes through all the different
emotions that these students go through in
order to cope with this realisation and move
on, be that fear, confusion, anger…
 Episode 3 - Time to make a plan:
 With their minds cleared it’s time to make a
plan. After attempting to leave the bathroom
several times and being sufficiently scared
right back in the students make a plan to find
their missing member and get out of this now
  terrifying college
 Episode 4 - Human Emotions:
 Upon attempting to execute the plan and
failing, this episode is about the wonder of
human emotions - being negative or positive,
these five students go through a multitude of
all of them and each go though self
evaluations of their lives they led before they
  landed in this situation
 Episode 5 - We are the sane ones:
 Upon a freak accident the lost member
stumbles into the students’ humble abode of
a bathroom and with this new found
  ‘accomplishment’ the students’ hopes are
renewed and they attempt to make one final
  bid for freedom.
 Episode 6 - We are the wild ones:
 The last episode is undecided as to whether
these students escape or not but either way
their lives change indefinitely, for better or
for worse, they are no longer the sane socially
acceptable individuals they used to be, at
  least underneath the façade…
Rough Guidelines

 19th November - 30th November: Script
  writing, character profiling, making pitches,
  finding actors, location scouting, inquiring
personnel as to usage availability of areas.
  Continuous website research throughout and
  planning.
 25th January 2013: Finish Product and
  Website
Feasibility

 It is very feasible that this production can work -
like most shows the locations will be limited. We
will be sticking to the interior of our own college,
so already we have an advantage in knowing
places that will work perfectly for certain scenes.
 This will allow for more attention to detail in
exploring the full potential of camera use in the
  area and script and acting.
 We have a strong group that are prepared to do
what needs to be done to get the job done.
 Time management and co-operation are strong
  within our group
Rationale?
 This is a brilliant new idea that has al the potential of
becoming the next big ‘must watch’ series of the year!
 With enough material to last 6 episodes this concept will be a
  short, snappy and powerful season.
 I can see this concept having the chance to have several seasons
  - perhaps around the concept that the students escape but they
are changed - how would they live their lives differently?
 It is absolutely essential that this product be commissioned to be
created because unlike show after show after show this one idea
is different, realistic and fresh. It is being made to be relatable
to it’s target audience with a feeling of reality ingrained in the
relationships with characters and situations. With a unique
premise and outlook on the adaptability of humans in difficult
situations this show can also be an eye opener to viewers on
  society’s underbelly…
