2. Here is a shot reverse shot between two characters. This highlights the difference
in appearance and thoughts and emotions that they fell during their conversation.
They are both avoiding eye contact meaning that something may have been said to
annoy one of them or they are trying to hide something.

3. This frame tells the viewer that a murder has just taken place by the running
blood down the windscreen of the car. The two blurred figures in the
background highlight that it could have and was most likely the two figures that
committed the murder. The grey tint to the frame gives it a gloomy and
monotonous feeling.

4. By this frame we can tell that the two girls are teenagers. We can tell this
because their costume is a typical teenage girl look with the leather jacket.
Their hair in the pony tail and bits of red also tell us that they are girl because
they are typical hair styles for teenager girls to wear. The fact that their hair is
messy also indicates that they could be sloppy or have just done some thing
that has messed their hair up telling the viewer that they have a back story to
this opening. The interesting choice of setting tells us that they are trying to
hide because they have possibly done something bad.

5. The close up of the mans face tells us that he has been murdered
recently as the blood is running down his face. The high key lightly
contrasts with the idea of death as you would normally associate
death with being dark however the frame is well lit and quiet bright.

6. Here we can make connections between the characters and fully
understand that the two girls have killed the man in the car as the blood
on their necks gives them away. The fact that the girl on the left has more
blood on her tells us that she may be the more confident out of the two as
the other looks as though she hasnt got any on her indicating she may not
have wanted to go through with it as much as the other. Their clothing
makes them look like typical teenage girls who are hard to handle.

7. This close up of the hand makes him look lifeless and still. The dark
shadow on the back of his hand could represent the fact that he will
soon all be black as the connotations off the colour black are death
meaning that soon death will take over all of him.

8. This close up of the knife tells the viewer that the girls have been very brutal
with the murder indicating they may have had a serious grudge to hold against
the man making the audience want to know the back story and why they killed
him.

Throughout the opening there is incidental music
playing. This gets louder as the scene progresses
indicating the death of the man. It also gives the
opening a creepy and scary atmosphere setting the
genre of the film.
During the opening the music and song being played
talks about events that happen ‘blood running down
my knuckles’. There is a close up of blood running
down a girls hand. The music is foreshadowing what
happens in the scene.
