This document discusses strategies for adapting to and building resilience against climate change impacts. It identifies layers of resilience at the farm, social, technological, and institutional levels to help rural poor communities cope with climate variability effects. Through a seven country partnership, the objectives are to improve understanding of climate impacts and identify best practices for mitigation through village-level studies. The outcomes and benefits include science-based solutions, new governance mechanisms, enhanced farmer linkages, community participation, economic stability, reduced poverty, and more eco-friendly resource management practices.
