This document discusses voting practices for speech segments in Toastmasters clubs. It presents results from a club voting survey that found members believe voting motivates improvement and assesses progress. The document outlines different types of voters and good practices for voting, such as evaluating throughout a speech, casting votes at the end, listening to all speakers first, and having a vote counter separate from the toastmaster. Guidelines are provided around when and how to vote to encourage impartial, emotionally-detached judging.
