INTRODUCTION
 VoLTE-Voice over Long Term Evolution.
 • It is based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem
(IMS)
 network, with specific profiles for control and
media
 planes of voice service on LTE defined by GSMA
in
 PRD IR.92.
 • VoLTE has up to three times more voice and
data
 capacity than 3G UMTS and up to six times more
 than 2G GSM.
 • In Asia Frequency bands For VoLTE is 800,
1800 and
HISTORY
  In May 2014, Singtel introduced the world's first
 commercial "full-featured" VoLTE service in Singapore,
 only in combination with the Galaxy Note 3..Later on
 samsung s6,sony z3+ etc..,
  On 11 July 2015, SEATEL Cambodia announced the
 world's first commercial 100% VoLTE service without
 2G/3G in Cambodia
 become Malaysia's FIRST VoLTE service provider.
  Reliance Jio announced commercial launch of 100%
 VoLTE service without 2G/3G based services in India
 on 5th Sep 2016.

 Basically LTE is a main hardware for 4G
network and VoLTE is a software based service.
DIFFRENCE
 Then what makes the difference between
"Circuit-Switched Network " and
 "Packet-Switched Network".
 Circuit-Switched Network :
 In Circuit switching if two people are
communicating over voice call, a line with
particular amount of bandwidth is
allocated for that call which will exist till
the call ends.
 In the below pic the red color line
indicates the circuit switched network.

 Packet-Switched Network :
 In Packet Switched network, the message is
divided into piece of packets and the packets are
sent individually. Packet Switched Network is
not like Circuit Switched, a particular amount of
bandwidth is reserved to make a call. This raw
data is divided into packets and it is delivered to
the End User.
 This is less reliable then circuit switching
network.
HOW VOICE CALLS WORK IN 4G LTE &
VOLTE ?
 Originally LTE was completely IP Cellular
System for carrying Data. If you were making a
call from LTE Network, the operators would be
able to carry the voice either by reverting to
2G/3G technologies.
 VoLTE :
 VoLTE is a HD voice calling Service over 4G LTE
rather than 2G/3G network present we are using.
 By using VoLTE we can make calls more faster
than 2G/3G connections. It has added advantages
of Security and Quality of services.
