Volcano landforms(2)
This document describes three main types of volcanoes: cinder cone volcanoes which are steep cone shapes formed from explosive eruptions of ash and cinders; shield volcanoes which are wide and gently sloping mountains formed from lava flows from quiet eruptions; and composite volcanoes which alternate between lava flows and explosive eruptions to form tall cone shapes.
