This document analyzes carrier frequency offset estimation techniques for MC-DS-CDMA uplink systems using zero-IF receivers. It proposes using zero correlation zone spreading sequences to exploit frequency and temporal diversity. Simulation results show that the variance of carrier frequency offset estimators is lower for MC-DS-CDMA compared to OFDM systems. The document also compares MC-CDMA and MC-DS-CDMA in terms of spreading, spectral efficiency, peak-to-average power ratio and applications. Tables and figures in the document show simulation results comparing theoretical and observed variances of carrier frequency offset estimators for different parameters.

Abstract: In this work, we exploit the SVD assisted multiuser transmitter (MUT) and multiuser detector (MUD) technique, using downlink (DL) preprocessing transmitter and DL postprocessing receiver matrice .In combination with space frequency block coding (SFBC). And also propose the precoded DL transmission scheme, were the both proposed schemes take advantage of the channel state information (CSI) of all users at the base station (BS), but only of the mobile station (MS)’s own CSI, to decompose the MU MIMO channels into parallel single input single output (SISO), these two proposed schemes are compared to the vertical layered space time (V_BLAST) combined with SFBC (SFBC_VBLAST). Our Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed scheme with DL Zero Forcing (ZF) transmitter for interference canceller outperforms the SFBC_VBLAST and the precoded DL schemes with ZF receiver in frequency selective fading channels. This paper investigates the effect of mutual coupling on the performance of SVD based beam-forming technique over a Rician MIMO channel. SVD based beam-forming technique were proposed as a baseband signal processing algorithm to combat NLOS issues. However, most of the researches done in regards to SVD based beam-forming technique are based on the assumption of “ideal array antennas” in which lots of practical issues including the transmitter and receiver array geometry, the number of antenna elements, the inter-element spacing and orientation are not considered. Particularly, the effect of mutual coupling due to finite element spacing is neglected. In real array antennas, Mutual Coupling (MC) is always present and its effects cannot be neglected, especially for tightly spaced arrays. Although the presence of mutual coupling leads to the “cross talk” problems for the SVD based beam-forming techniques. However, it does not adversely affect the system capacity. For some particular range of SNR, inter-element spacing, mutual coupling can in fact increase the capacity and in fact be beneficial in terms of decreasing SER

In this paper, three beamforming design are considered for multi user MIMO system. First, transmit
beamformers are fixed and the receive (RX) beamformers are calculated. Transmit beamformer (TX-BF)is
projectedas a null space of appropriate channels. It reduces the interference for each user. Then the receiver
beamformer is determined which maximize the SNR. This beamforming design provides less computation time.
The second case is joint TX and RX beamformer for SNR maximization. In this transmitter and receiver
beamformer are calculated using extended alternating optimization (EAO) algorithm. The third one is joint
transmitter and receiver beamforming for SNR and SINR maximization using EAO algorithm. This algorithm
provides better error performance and sum rate performance. All the design cases are simulated by using
standard multipath channel model. Our simulation results illustrate that compared to the least square design and
zero forcing design, the joint TX and RX beamforming design using EAO algorithm provides faster
beamforming and improved error performance and sum rate.

Implement of multiple access technique by wireless power transfer and relayin...journalBEEI
In this paper, we investigate non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network relying on wireless power transfer to prolong lifetime. The base station (BS) sends common signals to the relay with two functions (energy harvesting (EH) and signal processing) to further serve two NOMA users in downlink. Performance gap exists since different power allocation factor assigned from power splitting protocol adopted at the relay and such relay employs both amplify-and-forward (AF) and decode-and-forward schemes. To provide performance metrics, we prove formulas of the outage probability which is a function of transmit signal to noise ratio. Simulation results indicate specific parameters to adjust system performance of two user in the considered EH-NOMA system. This finding is important recommendation to design EH-NOMA which shows particular outage performance at required target rates.
ABSTRACT : Performance enhancement of smart antennas versus their complexity for commercial wireless
applications. The goal of the study presented in this paper is to investigate the performance improvement
attainable using relatively simple smart antenna techniques when applied to the third-generation W-CDMA air
interface. Methods to achieve this goal include fixed multi beam architectures with different beam selection
algorithms (maximum power criterion, combined beams) or adaptive solutions driven by relatively simple direction
finding algorithms. After comparing these methods against each other for several representative scenarios, some
issues related to the sensitivity of these methods are also studied, (e.g., robustness to environment, mismatches
originating from implementation limitations, etc.). Results indicate that overall, conventional beam forming
seems to be the best choice in terms of balancing the performance and complexity requirements, in particular
when the problem with interfering high-bit-rate W-CDMA 3g users is considered.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF MC-CDMA SYSTEM OVER RAYLEIGH FADING CHANNELIJCSES Journal
Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) is a well known technique for high speed
wireless data transmission .Two advanced technology was included in the MC-CDMA structure, such as
orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) and the code division multiple access (CDMA),so that it
benefits from the robustness of OFDM against multipath environment and from the capability of multiuser
multiplexing services that is achieved via (CDMA) system. MC-CDMA is a multicarrier spread spectrum
system which is classified as the candidate scheme for future mobile radio systems. In this paper MCCDMA
system, with Rayleigh fading channel and 16QAM array modulation, was simulated to investigate
the effects of different parameters on the system performance, such as processing gain; number of paths;
number of users; interleaving; and coding ratio.MC-CDMA performances can be considerably improved
by proper selection of these parameters. As expected, results show that MC-CDMA has a better performance over CDMA system.
Classical Discrete-Time Fourier TransformBased Channel Estimation for MIMO-OF...IJCSEA Journal
In this document, we look at various time domain channel estimation methods with this constraint of null carriers at spectrumborders. We showin detail howto gauge the importance of the “border effect” depending on the number of null carriers, which may vary from one system to another. Thereby we assess the limit of the technique discussed when the number of null carriers is large. Finally the DFT with the truncated singular value decomposition (SVD) technique is proposed to completely eliminate the impact of the null subcarriers whatever their number. A technique for the determination of the truncation threshold for any MIMO-OFDM system is also proposed.

Performance of Wideband Mobile Channel with Perfect Synchronism BPSK vs QPSK ...Editor Jacotech
Direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) is
currently the subject of much research as it is a promising
multiple access capability for third and fourth generations
mobile communication systems. The synchronous DS-CDMA
system is well known for eliminating the effects of multiple
access interference (MAI) which limits the capacity and
degrades the BER performance of the system. In this paper,
we investigate the bit error rate (BER) performance of a
synchronous DS-CDMA system over a wideband mobile
radio channel. The BER performance is affected by the
difference in path length ΔL and the number of arriving
signals N. Furthermore, the effect of these parameters is
examined on the synchronous DS-CDMA system for different
users’ number as well as different processing gain Gp. In this
environment and under the above conditions the performances
of the BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) and the QPSK
(Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) modulations are compared.
The promising simulation results showed the possibility of
applying this system to the wideband mobile radio channel.
Modelling and QoS-Achieving Solution in full-duplex Cellular SystemsIJCNCJournal
The global bandwidth scarcity and the ever-growing demand for fast wireless services have motivated the quest for new techniques that enhance the spectral efficiency (SE) of wireless systems. Most conventional SE increasing methods (e.g., adaptive modulation and coding) have already been exhausted. Single-channel full-duplex (SCFD) communication is a new attractive approach in which each node may simultaneously receive and transmit over the same frequency channel, and thus, it has the potential to double the current SE figures. In this paper, we derive a model for the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) in a SCFD-based cellular system with imperfect self-interference cancellation. Furthermore, given a set of uplink and downlink quality of service requirements, we answer the following two fundamental questions. First, is this set achievable in the SCFD-based cellular system? Second, if the given set is achievable, what is the optimal achieving policy? To that end, we provide a unified model for the SCFD-based cellular system, and give insights in the matrix of interference channel gains. Simulation results suggest that depending on the locations of the users, a combination of full-duplex and half-duplex modes over the whole network is more favourable policy
Effect of Interleaved FEC Code on Wavelet Based MC-CDMA System with Alamouti ...IJCSEIT Journal
In this paper, the impact of Forward Error Correction (FEC) code namely Trellis code with interleaver on
the performance of wavelet based MC-CDMA wireless communication system with the implementation of
Alamouti antenna diversity scheme has been investigated in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) as a function of
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) per bit. Simulation of the system under proposed study has been done in M-ary
modulation schemes (MPSK, MQAM and DPSK) over AWGN and Rayleigh fading channel incorporating
Walsh Hadamard code as orthogonal spreading code to discriminate the message signal for individual
user. It is observed via computer simulation that the performance of the interleaved coded based proposed
system outperforms than that of the uncoded system in all modulation schemes over Rayleigh fading
channel.
Proposed Model for Interference Estimation in Code Division Multiple AccessTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Cellular CDMA systems are usually affected by interference experienced by users in adjacent
cells that decrease the Quality of Services in wireless communication network. Hence, interference is the
limiting factor of capacity in CDMA cellular and it is one of the problems fighting against the high efficiency
of any mobile network. In this paper, a mathematical model to estimate the average number of users
contributing in inter-cell interference at the busy hours of CDMA network is proposed. As the power
exponent value has significant affect on interferer signal attenuation and hence other-cells interference,
measurements were carried through a drive test to determine the received power level at various distance
from CDMA base stations at Baghdad. The results obtained show that the power exponent was 2.71. This
value was applied in dual-slop path loss model to determine the expected interference factor, and the
number of users that can be hold at each cell. Simulations showed that users at a boundary cell generate
more interference than those close to the base station. Furthermore, it was denoted that greater number of
users caused to increase the interference factor, and greater power exponent value result in interference
factor reduction.

BER Performance of Antenna Array-Based Receiver using Multi-user Detection in...ijwmn
Antenna promises to provide significant increases in system capacity and performance in
wireless systems. In this paper, a simplified, near-optimum array receiver is proposed,
which is based on the angular gain of the spatial filter. This detection is then analyzed by
calculating the exact error probability. The proposed model confirms the benefits of adaptive
antennas in reducing the overall interference level (intercell/intracell) and to find an
accurate approximation of the error probability. We extend the method that has been
proposed for propagation over Nakagami-m fading channels, the model shows good
agreements with simulation results.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
