This document describes a visual approach to strategic planning that uses graphic guides and visual tools to engage groups in developing a shared strategic vision. The process takes groups through 7 stages: 1) preparing, 2) exploring current realities, 3) agreeing on a vision, 4) creating strategies, 5) implementing change, 6) living the vision. Case studies show the approach helped organizations like an architecture firm develop 5-year plans and achieve goals like becoming a top-ranked firm.
