Inspired by Marian charism and Christian virtues, the school seeks to help students live fulfilling lives of dignity and character while serving as agents of change. The goal is to develop students into people of faith concerned with sustainable development and environmental preservation, all in service of God through Mary.

My heart continues to be moved deeply by our Change Agent work. We have completed another year - our 9th - of bringing C.O.C. Education to some of the most challenged environments in our Society. I am in AWE of the results we are experiencing; so
many 'seeds' are sprouting and watering other 'seeds' in the process. An awakened individual understands that he/she has so many more options than choosing a life of crime and destruction. I see so much potential; the fire is burning in me/us to do so
much more.
I am aware that we would have achieved nothing without the incredible commitment of men and women who dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to this path. We know that it is not an easy one! My gratitude goes to each of you for having had the courage to choose YOU, for investing in becoming your best version. Life tests us over and over again so that we may purify our intentions and strip off all the layers of past limitations. Consciousness is a daily GYM. There is nothing more attractive than someone who radiates values-based leadership and generously shares of their awakening. This is the true Magic of a Change Agent.

Conventional methods of social science research overly confound social determinants of health and adolescent development, relying too heavily on individual level measures of change. This translates into a dominant and inaccurate pathology that treats and assumes young people of color (YPOC) as “risk” or problem, influencing the ways in which policies, practices, and investments in academic achievement, student support, staff support, and school discipline are implemented, perpetuating inequitable conditions for YPOC.Listening to Heal (LtH) is a community-engaged inquiry process that explores the experiences of trauma for YPOC in the context of school, including the impact on social emotional health, adolescent development, learning and achievement, school discipline, and the school to prison pipeline. LtH builds on RYSE’s Listening Campaign (LC), a similar and preceding inquiry that revealed young people’s profound, collective experiences of oppression, the stigma of place (being from Richmond, CA), and not feeling valued or belonging.
LtH’s aim is to effectively serve the needs of YPOC by 1) understanding their lived experience in the context of ongoing trauma 2) informing more effective school based interventions and strategies, and 3) influencing/advocating for school and other institutional policies, protocols, relationships, and investments that are restorative, just, and healing.

I am deeply humbled as I witness incredible courage amongst our students. We meet them in some of the toughest environments and extend to them the invite of change. Let us not underestimate what this means! It is for each student a complete rebuild of what he or she knows. It is a daily challenge of meeting and shifting the old energy and choosing a different approach.
You will in our annual report meet these courageous beings and witness what they do with a changed mindset; a mindset that no longer violates or perpetrates; a mindset that cares deeply to restore and heal , to nurture, inspire and to contribute. They have joined the heartbeat of transformation and play a significant role in guiding our SA youth and communities towards a greater future!

This study examined the transformational leadership practices of two elementary school principals and how they were perceived to influence school conditions. Transformational leadership was defined based on Leithwood and Jantzi's (2000) six dimensions: building vision/goals, intellectual stimulation, individual support, professional values, high expectations, and participation in decisions. The study aimed to understand how principals' behaviors affected teacher engagement, student engagement, and organizational changes through principal and teacher interviews and observations. The results could help identify effective leadership practices and develop high-quality school leaders.

A lecturer from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), he has taught for more than 30 years.
He is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) where he earned a double-degree in AB Journalism and AB Literature, an MA in Creative Writing, and a PhD in Literature.
He was the Founding Executive Director of Westbridge School in Iloilo City. He was in the first batch of graduates of PAREF Southridge School, where he also taught for 15 years, occupying various posts including Principal of Intermediate School, Vice-Principal of High School and Department Head of Religion. As Moderator of “The Ridge”, the official publication of Southridge, he won 9 trophies from the Catholic Mass Media Awards including the first ever Hall of Fame for Student Publication, for winning as the best campus paper in the country for four consecutive years.
He is the Founding Executive Director of “Character Education Partnership Philippines”, or CEP Philippines, an international affiliate of CEP in Washington, DC, USA. As Founder of CEP Philippines, he has been invited to speak all over the country, as well as in Washington D.C., San Diego, California, USA, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also serves as the Founding President of Center for 4th and 5th Rs (Respect & Responsibility) Asia, otherwise known as the Thomas Lickona Institute for Asia. He is probably the most visible advocate of character formation in the country, having spoken to hundreds of schools and universities around the Philippines.

FOREWORD by Founder Karina Andersen
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is not path and leave a trail”
As I journey with our Change Agents through their Circles of Change (COC) I wake more and more up to this inspiring quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. When each of us live into our Golden Thread and follow its calling, Magic takes place! Each project that we have been so lucky to witness and gently guide in our Change Agent work this year inspires to move beyond what we think we know and open ourselves to the grand adventure! I am deeply grateful for a year that has emptied me and opened me further. Only when we can be fully present with ‘the other’ can we deeply honour their journey and its unfolding. Here at SmilingOne we are curious about the puzzle piece that each of our Students are in our greater puzzle - their unique contribution. We walk hand in hand, we spin the COC Engine inwardly and outwardly, we shape and co-create inspiring projects that heal and inspire youth, families and communities.
Our annual report is a testimony of how each Change Agent leaves a trail as they are drawn by the inner pull towards their purpose - embracing the share they own in the well-being of our Society!

Conventional methods of social science research overly confound social determinants of health and adolescent development, relying too heavily on individual level measures of change. This translates into a dominant and inaccurate pathology that treats and assumes young people of color (YPOC) as “risk” or problem, influencing the ways in which policies, practices, and investments in academic achievement, student support, staff support, and school discipline are implemented, perpetuating inequitable conditions for YPOC.Listening to Heal (LtH) is a community-engaged inquiry process that explores the experiences of trauma for YPOC in the context of school, including the impact on social emotional health, adolescent development, learning and achievement, school discipline, and the school to prison pipeline. LtH builds on RYSE’s Listening Campaign (LC), a similar and preceding inquiry that revealed young people’s profound, collective experiences of oppression, the stigma of place (being from Richmond, CA), and not feeling valued or belonging.
LtH’s aim is to effectively serve the needs of YPOC by 1) understanding their lived experience in the context of ongoing trauma 2) informing more effective school based interventions and strategies, and 3) influencing/advocating for school and other institutional policies, protocols, relationships, and investments that are restorative, just, and healing.

I am deeply humbled as I witness incredible courage amongst our students. We meet them in some of the toughest environments and extend to them the invite of change. Let us not underestimate what this means! It is for each student a complete rebuild of what he or she knows. It is a daily challenge of meeting and shifting the old energy and choosing a different approach.
You will in our annual report meet these courageous beings and witness what they do with a changed mindset; a mindset that no longer violates or perpetrates; a mindset that cares deeply to restore and heal , to nurture, inspire and to contribute. They have joined the heartbeat of transformation and play a significant role in guiding our SA youth and communities towards a greater future!

This study examined the transformational leadership practices of two elementary school principals and how they were perceived to influence school conditions. Transformational leadership was defined based on Leithwood and Jantzi's (2000) six dimensions: building vision/goals, intellectual stimulation, individual support, professional values, high expectations, and participation in decisions. The study aimed to understand how principals' behaviors affected teacher engagement, student engagement, and organizational changes through principal and teacher interviews and observations. The results could help identify effective leadership practices and develop high-quality school leaders.

A lecturer from the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), he has taught for more than 30 years.
He is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) where he earned a double-degree in AB Journalism and AB Literature, an MA in Creative Writing, and a PhD in Literature.
He was the Founding Executive Director of Westbridge School in Iloilo City. He was in the first batch of graduates of PAREF Southridge School, where he also taught for 15 years, occupying various posts including Principal of Intermediate School, Vice-Principal of High School and Department Head of Religion. As Moderator of “The Ridge”, the official publication of Southridge, he won 9 trophies from the Catholic Mass Media Awards including the first ever Hall of Fame for Student Publication, for winning as the best campus paper in the country for four consecutive years.
He is the Founding Executive Director of “Character Education Partnership Philippines”, or CEP Philippines, an international affiliate of CEP in Washington, DC, USA. As Founder of CEP Philippines, he has been invited to speak all over the country, as well as in Washington D.C., San Diego, California, USA, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also serves as the Founding President of Center for 4th and 5th Rs (Respect & Responsibility) Asia, otherwise known as the Thomas Lickona Institute for Asia. He is probably the most visible advocate of character formation in the country, having spoken to hundreds of schools and universities around the Philippines.

FOREWORD by Founder Karina Andersen
“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is not path and leave a trail”
As I journey with our Change Agents through their Circles of Change (COC) I wake more and more up to this inspiring quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. When each of us live into our Golden Thread and follow its calling, Magic takes place! Each project that we have been so lucky to witness and gently guide in our Change Agent work this year inspires to move beyond what we think we know and open ourselves to the grand adventure! I am deeply grateful for a year that has emptied me and opened me further. Only when we can be fully present with ‘the other’ can we deeply honour their journey and its unfolding. Here at SmilingOne we are curious about the puzzle piece that each of our Students are in our greater puzzle - their unique contribution. We walk hand in hand, we spin the COC Engine inwardly and outwardly, we shape and co-create inspiring projects that heal and inspire youth, families and communities.
Our annual report is a testimony of how each Change Agent leaves a trail as they are drawn by the inner pull towards their purpose - embracing the share they own in the well-being of our Society!

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
