The video proposal discusses portraying the themes of good versus evil and finding one's true identity through the use of props and camera techniques. Costumes, masks, and dresses in black and white will represent the dual sides of a person. Makeup and lighting in red tones will signify the evil side. Research shows their ideas fit well within the dubstep music genre through its dark themes and use of red lighting to portray good and evil.

1. Video Propsal-
for our music video we have chosen to play on the word of the title “cracks”. We have discussed
many ways in which we can do this. Its about a female trying to find herself, her true identity but
this is proving an impossible mission as her evil side won’t let her. We proposed to play on the ideas
of good and place, fake, two sides, cracks, identity, plastic, darkness.
We have many props that we can use in order to secure these themes. We got masks and different
costumes to play on the idea of identity and hiding from reality. We also have a white and black
dresses to cloth our actress. This would be to represent the good and bad side of a person. The over
use of makeup is also used to show again people hiding behind something that superficial. So this
music video is about showing this through camera shots, editing and different lights. We feel like a
red tint light can be very benefited when showing her bad/evil side.
In doing some research on dubsteb music videos i found out that our idea is very much dubstep, the
use of dark and red lighting and hits or a dark evil theme. Also the ideas of good and evil make it
quintessential dubstep.
There were other ideas that we all shared but then we came to realise it was to literal like breaking
ice and cracking beginning to show. We later all agreed that we wanted to something more in
between to lines, make the audience work more to get the message.
