2. Electro Science
This album was released 2000. As we can see they
are playing with the idea that this album is new set
in the future, how do we know this? The
transformer and the Japanese writing helps us to
understand this. The Japanese are well known for
being advanced in technology and the transformer
establishes ideas that its something you aint seen
before in real life. The yellow back ground really
makes this album cover stand out, and the name of
the artist are in bold letters defiantly done to be
seen, because of their low key profile they need to
put their names to build more awareness of there
names.
3. Raw As Fuck
Released in 2004, this is one of there most successful albums, the
name of the album “ Raw As Fuck” is a bit explicit but yet again that's
who they are a underground urban duo. The title really complements
the main picture of a male and he looks a bit roughed up, as if he as
been fighting. The looks dangerous and his eyes tell a story or pain and
anger. The colours used are dull, a tint a green , again it gives it a street
feel to the album. This front cover can also show us to who this album
is intended for. By the looks of it the target audience would be, 18+
working class males.
4. Pressure Point
This album was released in 2002, and is well
respected throughout the London underground.
The front cover is mainly dominated by the
name for the artist and the colour red. Red have
many different connotations but in this album
cover it means danger and violence. Also the
graffiti writing on the wall really establishes
what freestyles are all about, urban , going
against authority. But still the main attraction is
the name of the artists. It was still in there
earlier point of their career so they needed as
much promotion as they could to get their
names out there.
5. Adventures In Freestyle
This is their latest album which was realised in 2006. as we can see their name is not
as blown up as it previously was in passed album covers, now the main attraction is
the cartoon picture in the middle. This picture is just weird and funky. It helps to
explain the album because the new tracks are also funky and a change from the
usual, yet it is already giving us an incite on the tracks with out even hearing them.
This this picture can also support the idea that this album is not of this world, its
based in a fantasy world something that normal people aren't ready for.
