2. • For my research I interviewed 4 people that fitted
our target audience. We showed the first person
our initial idea, and asked for constructive
criticism.
• the 2nd person we asked as during the editing
and film
• The 3rd person was present for when we edited.
• The 4th person show our final product and gave
his opinion.
3. Person 1
Andrew’s Opinion
Then I first saw the idea I was amazed it looked so good, they
had a good concept and a really good song choice. The only
problem that I saw was that they only had one character
thought-out the whole music video, and for me that was a bit
to boring and plus it was only set in on location. But besides
from that on paper it looked well a well thought out music
•Name: Andrew video, they showed that they were following the codes and
• Age: 18 conventions of a dubstep music video.
• Gender: Male
• Music preference: indie Alterations
• Hobbies: football We took Andrews comments on board and
• Favourite song: so many realised there was some things we could change in
order to make it look better. So decided to have
another location, the Hills in Greenford it offered a
great landscape view and we can juxtapose it with
the darkness of the drama room. We also added
another character which was the producer to
feature in the music video to add more
authenticity
4. Amy’s Opinion
Person 2
When I was present during the filming in
one of the scenes, I realised that they were
spending too much time in doing
something that was out of their reach, and
I had to remind them that its not a
Hollywood production. They had a great •Name: Amy
idea of a smashing of a mirror but when it • Age: 19
came into doing it they found some • Gender: female
difficulties. • Music preference: pop
• Hobbies: modelling
Alterations • Favourite song: Born this way
Amy really helped us understand that
what we were doing was a music video for
a collage not a big budget production. We
tried to do to much with the little
resources we had. So we took out the bits
that seems a bit far-fetched and used that
time to better to quality of shots we had,
and time to re shot.
5. Person 3 Eddison’s Opinion
When I was present for the when the editing
took part i was impressed on how they just got
on with it, and after a few mins they had already
put everything in place on the timeline. I liked
the way the changed they way they edited due
to it being a dubstep song. They placed fast cuts
and used quick shots. My only downside was
•Name: Eddison
they tried and fit everything in the music video
• Age: 17
• Gender: Male and started cutting out really good shots, plus
they tried to use to much transitions.
• Music preference: Hip-Hop
• Hobbies: Editing homemade movies
• Favourite song: Someone like you Alterations
We exactly knew that he was trying to tell us,
we did try to place all our shots in the music
video and in doing so we ended up deleting
good material. So after thinking about it, we
reviewed all our shots and deleted the ones
we didnt need and only used the good ones.
6. Person 4
•Name: Moe
• Age: 19
• Gender: Male
• Music preference: Hip-Hop
• Hobbies: Playing Video Games
• Favourite song: 50 Cent- Candy shop
Moe’s Opinion
In seeing the final products i was very amazed on how it turned out, it was superb. It
looked like a real professional music video! I really liked they way they linked the music
video with the CD cover and poster, by using the same colours and pictures. If this was
out in a music store id be sure to buy one.
7. Conclusion
• Overall you can see that we stuck to the word
of our target audience. We needed their
opinion to better our understanding of that
they were looking for in a dubstep music
video. the feedback that we got was great it
allowed us to get to know your audience
much more and see that they liked and
disliked about our product.
