In this present day and age, there is not one person who has actually fellowshipped with
Jesus or the original disciples in physical form. We are at least 2,000 years removed from their recorded
existence -which includes the birth of the church. This means that no one on the planet received their
ordination by the imparting of a spiritual blessing at the hands of these original church fathers; some will
argue this point with the concept of apostolic succession. That is the concept that Jesus appointed Peter who
laid hands on others, who laid hands on others, to the present day. The only people who could even attempt
to claim this concept would be the Catholic Church -because they are the oldest denomination of
Christianity. However, even they are not recorded in scripture, so the whole idea lacks sound support.

THEREFORE, this means that everyone ordained today has been appointed by nothing more than
faith in words that are written on pages in a book -the Bible. Every person's ordination today is
traced back to its beginning where someone read the Bible, believed it, and started appointing
ministers. Does this mean that those ordinations are invalid simply because they came from a book?
The answer is "no." But yet, some ask a very similar question, "Is ordination that comes from a
website valid?" Can you see the irony in this?
From the perspective of a non-member of our organization a non-member will fall into one of three
categories: 1) the State; 2) the Christian believer; or 3) the non-believer.

The State
The State is not supposed to validate religions: The First Amendment (made applicable to the States by
the Fourteenth) Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1, 67 S.Ct. 504. There was said: Neither a state
nor the Federal Government can set up a church. Neither can pass laws which aid one religion, aid all
religions, or prefer one religion over another. Neither can force or influence a person to go to or to
remain away from church against his will or force him to profess a belief or disbelief in any religion….

Believers
Will either support unity among denominations, or they will choose to discriminate.
Obviously, those who support unity will welcome your credentials ad those who do no will reject them.
Then of course, there is the person who was raised as a Christian but is not taking their faith seriously.
These people do not typically know the differences between Christian quarrels over doctrine. Therefore,
they are not likely to question credentials.

Non-Believers
People who do not believe in our faith can take any position regarding your ministerial
status. After all, even though we are not Islamic, it is unreasonable to think that their
religious leaders are not also ministers of their faith.

Ordination is the recognition of a ministerial calling by a religious community. Its most
tangible value is not found in the churches, but rather in the secular world. Churches argue
among themselves and discriminate against one another. Therefore, they will continually
question one another in matters of validity. However, the U.S. government is not supposed to validate
religions. To do so is a violation of our constitution -but this is not to say that some people with hidden
agendas will not at times stand in your way. For this reason, ordination is beneficial to accessing public
areas like jails, shelters, hospitals, and nursing homes. When it is all said and done, credibility stands
with the minister. If they draw negative attention to themselves, or give people reason to question their
validity, they have become their own stumbling block. However, if they act in the role of a minister
while showing others the love and respect that scripture commands, most will never question them.
Bottom line: It is God who ordains. Is He with you or not? What then shall we say to these things? If
God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom 8:31 MKJV)

Study Guide and Questions for Mission Statement
Our mission is to train and equip those people that are interested in serving in the role of
Chaplain. Ordination and training provided by the NACM and the CCA will allow the volunteer
Chaplain to begin service in their local community. "Chaplaincy is a service oriented, needs
directed, and servant ministry. The Chaplains purpose is to serve all others in their time of need. A
Chaplain is required to direct their sole attention to those whom they serve and focus on how their
ministry can assist and meet the needs of those that they serve."

We expect participation in this module to be global in nature. It is beyond the scope of
this training to know the rules and regulation in effect in foreign countries. The questions that are
specific to the United States should not cause the foreign student a problem if they can
understand the material as presented. In order to participate in this training we require you to be
ordained by the NACM and commissioned through the CCA. If you are a Pastor, Minister, Elder,
Deacon, etc. who has been visiting hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, etc. and you successfully
complete this course then we will Certified you. We are taking into consideration your past and
present experience, while also considering your calling.

Please know that if you are looking for a Chaplaincy Career, our chaplaincy program may not be for
you! This certification is for voluntary Ministers that are already visiting fellow church members,
associates, friends, etc. This does not mean you cannot become employed as a Chaplain. A Chaplain
Certification to work for an employer may require you to have credit hours at the College level and-or
CEU Hours (Continue Education Units); some employers require at least a Bachelors Degree in
Theology. This type of education is beyond the scope of what we can offer here at NACM and the
CCA. Our training is religiously accredited and does not meet standard to be exchanged for academic
credits. You are being certified as a "Practical Christian Chaplain".

You will be given a free certificate of completion and an updated badge with the CCA that may be used at
Hospitals, during times of natural or man made disasters, in Prisons, Airports, Parades, State Houses,
City Halls, Automobile Accident Scenes, Rescue Proceedings, National and International events, etc.
However it is very important that you know, that by being certified with the NACM, or any other
Chaplain Ministry, Organization, or Association, it does not guarantee you an open door everywhere. We
truly believe that God is the one that opens the doors for you! If you are a Minister or a Christian with a
God given Call to the ministry, you will always see doors open in front of you. The Government is
precluded by the first amendment of the constitution from endorsing any religion or religious belief. It is
like performing marriages. Some states, counties and local government require certain credentials before
you can perform a wedding. Due to the fact that marriage is a civil ceremony, they can regulate who is
able to perform these duties. A lay or secular Chaplain likewise has no religious backing. As a Chaplain,
performing duties as an ordained minister, there is no Federal, State, or local law that can prevent you
from performing pastoral care or counseling.

RESPECTING AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE
EXERCISE THERE OF: OR ABRIDGING THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, OR OF THE
PRESS; OR THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE PEACEABLY TO ASSEMBLE, AND TO
PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES.

Members shall embrace the principle that a ministry comes together not to destroy their members but to
build and restore each other. Therefore, the NACM and the CCA will not engage in activities intended to
harm anyone either online or while acting as pastoral care providers. Following the biblical counsel, the
NACM and the CCA will not entertain any accusation or complaints against our members or elders
unless such complaint is brought by "two or three reliable witnesses.” In the event of an ethics violation
by any member the NACM in partnership with the CCA will follow the process of restoration and
redemption recounted in the Holy Bible.
When writing your essay be sure to include your understanding that you must be ordained by the NACM
also reference agreement with the procedures for processing ethics violations.
