In Basement of Saint Mary’s Church in New Haven Ct. on March 29 th  1882 125 years later the Knights of Columbus has grown to be the largest lay Catholic organization in the world.  FRATERNAL BENEFIT SOCIETY: CHARITABLE WORKS In April of 2008, Pope Benedict declared Fr. McGivney a “Venerable Servant of God”.

Support of Vatican Communications Knights of Columbus supports church community, family and youth activities. $1.4 Million to the beneficiaries of the law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who died in 9/11 terrorist attacks. In 2007 our order contributed over 144 million dollars to charity and contributed 68 million volunteer hours. Knights Support Vocations and church development through church Loans Knights of Columbus provides educational scholarship programs for Catholic high school and Colleges. Knights of Columbus is a valuable resource for your family.

Pres. Eisenhower and the American Legion thanked us for our efforts Atheists filed three to remove those two words. Knights of Columbus has been granted a standing in the case and is fighting to keep us “One Nation Under God.”
