    The Vision

Fisherofmen™ Ministries Inc. a Revolutionary, Urban Community Outreach Para-church - youth
organization, broken into three distinct areas with one purpose: The Transformation of the West Side of the
City of Chicago by furthering the Kingdom of God in Youth, Family, Community Involvement, and Cultural
Ministry Development.

quot;Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the Great Commission has
forfeited its biblical right to exist.quot; -- Oswald J. Smith

Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach: a program to develop disciples throughout the community. It is
made up of like minded Youth Leaders and Pastors from across the West Side of Chicago. These outreach
teams or chapters have the soul purpose to fulfill the Great Commission by doing strategic, calculated
outreach in a way that is effective and life changing. This minister’s to the Spiritual and Emotional needs
of the community.

Fisherofmen™ Family Center: the for-profit Financial Back Bone of the Ministry. Here is the
development of a youth recreation center that houses a Bowling Alley and a Skating Rink. This area
ministers to the Physical, Social, Economical needs of the community by providing areas for families and
youth to socialize and stay fit and giving to families in need.

Fisherofmen™ Youth Development Center: a non for-profit, privately funded community
outreach center, that houses both an after school program for school aged children and an alternative high
school/GED program. There will be a community theater for use of local churches, community meetings
and small concerts. The after school programs computer lab will be used to develop computer skills for both
youth and their parents. The after school program becomes a summer day camp when school is out. There
will be class rooms set up to foster academic growth for kids in grades K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th & 6th-8th. This
Program also provides transportation to and from the facility. Fisherofmen ™ Leadership Training
Program (part of the Youth Development Center) is where the after school & summer program develops
teens and college students into future leaders by pairing them with teachers, tutors or school age workers
as teacher aids or Interns. This program ministers to the Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Spiritual and
Economical needs of the community. High School students earn both community service learning hours
and an income as part of this program.
The Plan

Both Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach and the Youth Development Center targets Inner City
Youth who want to make their world a better place by creating communities worth living in. These programs
deal with the issues of the community that effect the Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Social,
Economical and Emotional needs of that area. Though the Youth Outreach program targets specific
ethnic groups or communities, it is not limited to these groups, but encourages interracial, multi-ethnic and
trans-cultural outreach across neighborhoods of different backgrounds.

        Our Creed

    • The one true and living God, who eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the
        Holy Spirit, loves everyone.
    • God uniquely revealed and inspired the Bible, so that it alone is God’s Word written, hence the Holy
Scriptures are the only inerrant authority for what we believe about God’s moral law, salvation from
sin and how we should live.
    • Since the disbelief and disobedience of Adam and Eve, all humans have failed to obey God’s two
major laws summed up by the Lord Jesus Christ.
    • We have failed to love God with our whole being and we have failed to love our neighbors as
ourselves. People have become slaves to selfishness and are alienated from God and one another.
    • Jesus’ death in our place reconciles us to God.
    • His atoning sacrifice provided redemption from the power of sin, forgiveness for our guilt, and
        reconciliation to Himself and others.
    • We become acceptable to God, or justified, not by works, but by God’s grace alone, through faith in
        Christ alone.
    • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to
provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of
intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
    • The Holy Spirit draws sinners to repentance, belief in the Gospel and trust in the risen Christ of
        whom it speaks.
• The Holy Spirit then assures believers of salvation, gives them gifts for servant ministries, and
empowers them to meet the needs of the lost, the poor, and the oppressed.
    • All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are members of His one international, multi-ethnic and trans-
cultural body called the universal church.
    • Its unity is displayed when we reach beyond racial and denominational lines to demonstrate the
        Gospel’s reconciling power.
    • Our primary calling is to communicate the Gospel with power to everyone in our generation and
nurture disciples. Nothing must divert us from carrying out our Lord’s Great Commission until His
glorious return to reign in righteousness.

        Our Call

Matt 4:18-19
“As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother
Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. [19] “Come, follow me,” Jesus
said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”

II Chronicles 7:14
quot;If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.quot;

Matt 28:18–20
And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you
always, even unto the end of the world. Amen”.

The dawning of the 21st century finds the church of America in a moral and spiritual crisis. Decades of self-
centered living and worldliness have taken their toll. Years of compromise and toothless gospel preaching
have had their effect. And now we have reached the moment of truth: Either we wake up, stand up, speak
up, and act up, or we run the risk of becoming a mere historic curiosity, an irrelevant religious sideshow, an
entertaining, harmless spectacle.

Something must change, and it must change now. There is no other choice. Forty years ago, a
counterculture revolution swept through America, resulting in a sudden, steep moral decline. Since that time
(from the early ’60s until today), the divorce rate has doubled, the teen suicide rate has tripled, reported
violent crime has quadrupled, the prison population has quintupled, the percentage of babies born out of
wedlock has risen six-fold, and couples living together out of wedlock has risen sevenfold. And the end is
not in sight.

The last generation’s counterculture of rebellion has become this generation’s establishment of revulsion,
and what was unthinkable forty years ago – daytime talk shows celebrating adultery and incest;
homosexual love scenes on major network TV; eleven-year-old multiple murderers; massacres in our
schools and houses of worship – is a matter of course today.

We need a revolution! But this revolution will be different than other revolutions – including the revolution
that birthed our nation more than 200 years ago. This revolution will not be fought with earthly weapons of
destruction – not with guns and knives and bullets and bombs. It will not be fought with hatred, anger,
intimidation, or brute force. No. It will be fought with the message of the gospel, with the love of God, with
the power of the Spirit, with radical holiness, with sacrifice, compassion, and courage. It will be a Jesus
revolution, an intense clash between two spiritual kingdoms, a heavenly attack on the enemy’s strongholds,
a no-compromise stand for morality and truth. And it will impact society in a lasting way. It must!

(From The Jesus Manifesto)
There is a revolution underway on campuses around the world. Youth, no longer content to be spectators,
are reclaiming their world for God. They are taking the power and the presence of God to the classroom as
well as the ball field. The spiritual climate is dramatically changing and schools are being transformed.

Moody student and there a seed was planted in his heart for Urban Youth. As a Youth Leader at St. Luke,
Antonio always felt a pull towards the youth outside the church and in the streets. After years in retail sales
he was reunited with James T. Smith at Servants of the Word Youth Outreach in 2004 where the seed was
watered and the burden for community deepened. Today Antonio is a member of New Life Community

of the organization that today takes the fight to the street. A typical day for Mr. Morris includes overseeing
the day-to-day operations of the organization while hitting the streets to feed the homeless and outreach
into the community. Lincoln is a down to earth and compassionate person who hits the neighborhoods and
hidden places where the homeless survive. He is focused on garnering trust and learning the plight of
people so he can better address the needs. Lincoln has 7 loving children.

Jesus calls his first followers to become “Fisher of Men” Matt4:19. “Fisherofmen” is always one word. This
is symbolic of the one mission: The Great Commission. The body of Christ is also one Church, with one
Lord, one Faith and one baptism.

In a world of “Darkness” in which we struggle against (Eph 6:12 hence the black background) we are called
to be “The Light” and “The Salt”. Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus tells his disciples, quot;You are the salt of the earthquot;
and quot; You are the light of the world.quot; Thus you find “salt” surrounding the letters and waves of “light” flowing
from them. The Red, Black and Green communicate a part of the gospel message and biblical truth that the
blood (red) of Jesus cleanses all sin (dark) and that repentance heals the land (green). Ephesians 1:7, Also
read II Chronicles 7:14.

As you may or may not be aware of, a large and diverse group of people from many different walks of life
(business, government, churches, citizens, etc.) are quite concerned about the negative beliefs and
attitudes being expressed through various types of crime across the community. Many different corrective
actions have been taken and progress has been realized in some areas. However, many feel the
fundamental character traits of the community are being steadily eroded. In fact, those in a position to
know, say that a new generation is coming along now that nobody is reaching very well. The outlook for
our community leaves a lot to be desired.

While fingers can be pointed in many directions, many of our own church leaders recognize that the
American Church has failed to live up to the beliefs it professes. Hence, in many ways, it has surrendered
to the culture rather than transforming it. Many church people realize that the time has come for decisive
action.

Too often, church leaders have focused on building their own congregation, thereby neglecting the larger
community. For several years now, the Transformation move of God has been afoot to bring the churches
back to unity in Christ and cooperation in ministry. Denominational, Racial, Gender, and other boundaries
are being dismantled.

Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach
This Revolutionary Outreach program is the first of its kind on the west side of Chicago that works with
purpose driven, like minded church leaders, Youth Pastors, and Youth Leaders throughout the west side’s
many communities. This program minister to the Spiritual and Emotional needs of the community.

Run by the passion for fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) and the vision for taking the city for
the Kingdom, this, multi-ethnic, multi- denominational and trans-cultural outreach effort sets out to be a
bold, radical presence not to be seen for the sake of being seen but to call a generation to action, a
generation to repentance and to God. It will grow like a “Gang” or and “Army” where the inner city youth are
drawn by biblical love to the Lordship of Jesus and are taught the importance of a Biblical Kingdom-minded
community. Sounds easy right? No but with much prayer and organization it is possible.

Each group will engage in months of prayer and fasting and encouraged to live a life of purity and devotion
to the Lord, His Kingdom and to the Church. These outreach groups or chapters have the soul purpose to
fulfill the Great Commission by doing strategic, calculated outreach in a way that is effective and life
changing. With the leading of the Lord and the organized leadership having one mind and purpose these
groups will develop into a powerful force towards building Kingdom minded community.

There are chapters housed in willing churches in each community where the youth will meet for prayer,
bible study, worship and fellowship. Each Chapter Group will develop an outreach program model that
under fervent and effectual prayer, works best for the needs of their community but based around the
teaching of Focus on the Family’s, The Truth Project®. They will target their peers, at risk youth who are a
part of gangs, drug dealers, or any self destructing behavior that threatens the growth of a community or
generation. They will serve as a peer jury for both the after school and alternative school program. This will
be a place where their talents and skills are honed for the building of God’s kingdom and the Spiritual,
Intellectual, Physical, Social, Economical, and Educational transformation of the West Side of Chicago and
possibly the world around them.

The Lord is calling for more Prayer Warriors and Praying Saints. He is calling His Soldiers, the Army of
God, together for such a time as this. He is joining us together corporately for the Work of the Kingdom of
God. Intercessors and praying saints of the Lord Jesus Christ have been separated for many years, praying
alone by ourselves, in our prayer closets, etc. which was wonderful for those times and you still continue to
pray for your church etc. but the Lord is calling us out of our homes, churches, closets, etc. for the Kingdom
work which is a Bigger Picture and a higher level of Intercession and calling. We can now join other
Intercessors and Praying Saints for the Great Work that is ahead of us. We need you and JESUS CHRIST
needs you.

Some of the Prayer Partners might not be able to attend the prayer gatherings but can pray together in
connecting together and networking for the Kingdom. This will be great because we need those prayer
partners that can cover what is happening and can be praying with us at some of those times.

Prayer Tactics

 The 3 Levels of Intercession
Level 1 - INTERVENTION

Ezekiel 22:30 I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before me,
on behalf of the land... Intercession begins by having open eyes. Eyes that see the current situation of
the Nation, a family, the Church, person, etc. God then opens our eyes and gives us an insight and a
foresight of how the situation should be. Habakkuk, the prophet saw this.
The insight and the foresight we get becomes a burden when we realize the necessity of change. The
burden is the vision. One will see it and just ponder over it and then let it go. The other Intercessors see it
and step out to bring the vision to life. The stepping out is the Intervention. Think of Nehemiah 1. When
Nehemiah was told what was happening to the survivors, He got the picture of how things were and how
they ought to be. This became a burden to him and he stepped out by praying. The initial step of
intercession is the standing in between; between the present and the future. The future is God's plan.
The present may be the result of some human sin and failure, or demonic oppression, or God's
judgment, thus impacting human life. Intervention is standing in between. The burden is bringing in the
Lord’s plan to the present situation.

Level 2 - INTERSECTION

The second level of intersession is two-fold. In Ezekiel 1: 15, Ezekiel saw the image of the four creatures.
The creatures had wheels, each of which intersected and so, made it possible for them to move
whenever the Spirit moved...vs.19. Their movement was the same and none could move without the
other. God is calling His people to intersect with one another. The Spirit of networking is released upon
His people now more than ever before. We are called to be one body, walking together in love and unity
with every part functioning, working together for the Kingdom of God for His Glory.(1 Corinthians 12:12)
God is bringing a merging together of ministries, where we minister under greater corporate anointing for
the purpose of Kingdom building. In Ezekiel 1: wheel intersecting... As we intersect there will be a cross
pollinating with one another and we will see the fruit. Wheels intersecting wheels, big and small all
functioning together. The results will be awesome. Are we of one mind, one Spirit that nothing can stop
or withhold what we pray about? Genesis11:16.

The other side of Intersection is standing in the by-pass, or crossroads, where people are confused and
show them the way (Joel 3:14) There are multitudes in the valley of decision. The Day of the Lord is near
in the Valley of Decision. The whole world is in confusion. People have a choice to make and everyone is
looking for a solution. Leaders have reached a place where things are running out of control. Nations are
crying for some supernatural intervention. Church we are called to step out and give the solution. We are
to show the way. We are called by God to point people to the Cross of Calvary. The cross stands in the
crossroad, .the by-pass, where the intersection points people to the cross. Do we give our own views in
the situation, or do we speak God’s voice. The time has come when we must echo God's voice to a
confused world. The world needs hope. That hope is found in Christ Jesus. It's time we show them the
way and how to divide between the evil and the righteous, the holy and the un- holy, The carnal and the
spiritual. We are called to stand in the intersection, with the cross to point the way.

Level 3 - INTERCEPTION

It is the act of taking by force, Matthew 11:12. We know the devil is at work and many things are bound
to happen. Our mission is to sabotage the enemy’s mission. The devil's mission is to destroy our families,
our churches, our communities and our nation. We need to rise and act. Jesus did this on the cross for
us. (Colossians 2:14-15)

Man's tendency is to loose what is freely given to him. Christ has won the victory for us but we must hold
it. Satan aims at making us loose that victory. Much of what we see is meant to destroy God's people.
The time has come to expose the devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-18) Please take note of verse 11.
Our mission is to stand against the devil's schemes. We need to step out and act quickly. Church, the
time to rise is now. God is counting on us and we must intercept. We must destroy the plans of the
enemy. As we take the whole armor of God, we will be able to stop what is planned against God's
people. When we work together and act together victory is certain. Our mouth needs to be filled with a
shout of triumph and the voice of victory. There is no greater way to disarm the enemy than through
praise and worship. It's time we spoke prophetically. Our words are like great missiles in the world of
darkness. The time has come to prophesy over our Families, churches, city, and nation.
God is looking for people who are ready to step out. If God's people will step out and cry out in prayer,
and shout victory over the enemy, things will change. You have creative power. What you call forth will
be. It's time that God's people bring all the Kingdoms and Rulers of this world under the Kingship of His
Son. Step out with one voice. Nothing will stop you. There is a call for massive intercession that will bring
massive destruction to the Kingdom of Darkness God is orchestrating things. We need to be one, to hold
it, and keep it. Join hands with each other and with God and Let It Be!

1 Kings 8:29

May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall
be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn
from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now
my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and
consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be
there.

James 5:16

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer
of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Matthew 11:12

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and
forceful men lay hold of it.

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Colossians 2: 14-15

Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us;
he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he (Jesus) made
a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

The money (outside of the needs of the business) made here will go back to the families quarterly (every 3
months) by answering to the written request of our customers who live in the five communities of outreach;
Lawndale, Austin, Little Village, Garfield Park & Humboldt Park. These requests will be met by careful
prayer, investigation and consideration by the board members and the leadership. Employees are exempt
from these seeds but encouraged to show the same level of Kingdom Minded sowing in what ever way the
Lord allows in their personal area of influence. As stated before there will be a skating ring and a bowling
alley and a sit down fast (but healthy) food restaurant. Christian Music will be played at all times in both
areas. If there are any video games they will be free of mindless violence and witchcraft. Billiards and
Foosball tables will be housed in this area.

                                   After School Program Components

    • Academic Support - The academic support component of the program consists of homework and
tutorial assistance, reading and academic intervention/remediation.
    • Improvement Learning - The improvement/concealed learning piece is implemented through a
learning center approach. Learning centers may include nutrition, art, mathematics, science,
reading, drama and other topics that are complementary to traditional school day instruction. For
example, if students are learning fractions in the classroom, a learning center may focus on
students participating in a cooking lesson following a recipe.
    • Pro social Skills/Activity - The pro social skills/activity piece consists of structured indoor and
        outdoor activities.
    • Parent Support and Empowerment - A Parent Orientation is provided at the beginning of the
program to provide information and facilitate communication between program staff, parents and
        students.

Student Population
Students are referred to the program by administrators, teachers, parents, or a self-referral. Typically,

student is absent, parents are expected to communicate, written or verbally, to the Fisherofmen program staff
in addition to the traditional school day staff. Ten cumulative unexcused absences can be considered
excessive and a student's enrollment in the program may be revoked. Space is limited and there are
usually waiting lists.

Funding
The Fisherofmen After-School Program is supported through a combination of funding sources: This is a non-
for-profit agency but is not link to any federal government funding. There is not 501(c)(3) component to this
program which allows total freedom to operate in Kingdom principals. In efforts to expand existing
Fisherofmen After-School Programs and offer additional students after-school opportunities, other funding
sources will be looked into.

Policies and Procedures

These after School Policies and Procedures are developed by the Fisherofmen Staff and parents. The basic
concept of school climate is to establish a positive school environment that is safe, healthy, and productive.
Therefore, it is important that the policies, procedures, and school rules be shared and understood by
students, parents, and school staff members. Each teacher spends an extensive amount of time at the
beginning of the school year teacher and reviewing this information with all students to ensure
understanding and establish positive expectations for student behavior.

Parental participation in this process will help your child's understanding of these rules and procedures. It
will also help the students to understand that both parents and school staff share the same expectation of
positive school behavior and support a safe and orderly learning environment.
Goals and Responsibilities
The basic goals of Fisherofmen After School Program are:
1. To provide a safe learning environment
2. To teach basic subject matter (Emphasizing skills in reading, math, science, social studies, writing, art,
music, physical education, health, theology and technology)
3. To help students develop a positive self-image while understanding the differences of others
4. To help students develop the character traits of respect, trust, caring, and responsibility while promoting
a sense of family and community
5. To encourage creativity and provide opportunities for creative expression

Parents Responsibilities
1. To generate respect for staff, center, property, and program
2. To send students to program clean, rested, and prepared for learning

3. To grade students progress fairly and without discrimination
4. To provide concerned, caring teachers that are aware of the latest educational developments

Contact the Teacher
Teachers welcome your notes and calls. Conferences can be easily arranged. Teachers are usually
available to accept phone calls from before program and immediately after. All teachers have voice mail
and email addresses and check messages daily. Please ask for their voice mailbox number. The office will
take messages anytime and the teacher will return the call as soon as practical. Communication between
teacher and parents is extremely important. Please don't hesitate to call if you have a question or concern.

School Newsletters
So far as practical, communications sent by Fisherofmen will go out every other Wednesday. If you do not
see anything coming home, ask your child about it. We plan to send Fisherofmen Parent Newsletter out
every other week with your child.

School and General Classroom Rules
Students will attend program regularly and arrive to program on time if not being transported by staff.
Students should arrive at program no earlier than 6:00 a.m. Due to lack of supervision, students may only
be on site from 6:00a.m.(Only for morning transport to perspective Public or Private School or Suspension)
until 8:30 a.m. and then from the time their school lets out (3:00 pm) until 6:00 pm
Students will stay in designated, supervised areas at all times.
The rights and property of others must be respected at all times. Students must pay for damages or lost
property, both program and personal. Note: Students are not to bring items of value to program.
Fights, threatening the safety of others, willful destruction of property, and disrespect/defiance toward
school personal will not be tolerated.
Profanity in any form and ridicule including racial, ethnic, religious, handicap, or sexual slurs will not be
tolerated.
Students will speak respectfully to each other. quot;Put-downsquot; are not allowed.
Students will follow the Fisherofmen dress code.
Food is allowed at designated times and in designated areas only. Healthy snacks are encouraged.
Chewing gum is not allowed at program.
Personal property (toys, games, radios, MP3 players, lasers, cell phones, DVD and CD players,
headphones, and other electronic devices, etc.) may not be brought to program. Exceptions: calculators
and curriculum related items. The buying and selling of personal items is not allowed. Items and money will
be confiscated.
Students will help to keep the program clean and neat.
Students will not ride bicycles in program area, parking area or on the playground. Bicycles must be walked
until off campus. The bike rack is off limits during program hours.
Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and skates are not allowed at school.

Field Trips
All students have the right to attend program field trips. There are little to no field trips during the regular
program year. Field trips are an extension of the classroom learning environment in a less structured
setting. Therefore, it is important that students participating in the field trips conduct themselves in an
appropriate manner which will ensure their safety and the safety of others. Students' behavior must be
appropriate to the setting to allow all participants the opportunity to see, hear, and learn.

During a field trip, a student will be expected to follow program rules. If a student's behavior endangers his/
her safety or the safety of others or requires a significant amount of teacher/chaperone time which would
endanger others, the student will be removed from the site of the field trip. Either the parent will be called to
come to the site and take the child home or the Program Director will come to the site and take the child
back to the school.

One indicator of a student's ability to behave on a field trip is the citizenship exhibited in program.
Therefore, a student may be excluded from a field trip if prior behavior has been inappropriate and causes a
concern for (1) the safety of others, or for (2) the amount of teacher/chaperone time that would be required
to monitor such behavior.

Systematic Plan for Teaching Appropriate Behavior

Recognition of Positive Behavior

The major emphasis at Fisherofmen is on positive recognition for appropriate program behavior. Special
recognition is given to students who follow the rules of safety and good citizenship in the classroom, on the
playground, and in the cafeteria.
1. Classroom: Each teacher will have their own student recognition program which will be shared with
parents at Funding Night.
2. School Wide:
• Earning “Gotcha” coupons to spend at the Gotcha store which is sponsored by the PTA
• Grade level awards assembly each trimester recognizing good citizenship and achievement in both
program and regular school
• Attendance awards and recognition
• Pizza with the Program Director
• Student art work, projects and other related curriculum work will be displayed in the office and
cafeteria/MP room

Negative Consequences
The major consequence system at Fisherofmen is the CITATION system. Students who disobey program
rules will be issued a citation. The consequences for the citations vary depending on the severity of the
infraction. As a minimum, the following consequences will be given:

FIRST CITATION: This is a warning citation. Teacher will counsel with student. Students will receive recess
detention or other consequences as appropriate to the infraction.

SECOND CITATION: Teacher will contact parent. Student will receive recess detention or other
consequences as appropriate to the infraction.

THIRD CITATION: Referral to the program office. A conference with the Program Director and/or a phone
call home will be made by teacher or Program Director. Student will receive recess detention or other
consequences as appropriate to the infraction.
FOURTH CITATION: A conference will be scheduled by the classroom teacher to develop a plan to
improve student’s behavior. Participants may be the parents, student, teacher, Program Director, and other
staff as needed. Based on the conference, a contract will be written so that all members of the team know
what to do to help improve the student’s behavior. Several conferences may be necessary to develop a
successful plan.

NOTE: Citations must be signed by the parent and returned to the teacher the next day. If the
citation does not come back, the student will call home and be on recess detention. If a student develops a
pattern of not returning citations to school, she/he may be suspended for defiance.

Possible Negative Consequences to be applied when dealing with students who break Fisherofmen
program rules:
GRADES 1-6 Morning Recess Detention/Lunch Recess Detention: Students may be required to write
behavior paragraphs for specific incident infractions. Detention can also be used for homework completion.

ON-SITE DETENTION: Students attend school on another classroom while they complete assigned tasks
and school work. This may be used as an alternative to sending students home during the school day.

Certain consequences will be directly related to a student’s misbehavior. These natural consequences
might include performing school cleaning tasks, assisting in a classroom, or otherwise “working off” their
consequence. Students may be required to pay for any damages.

Serious Misbehaviors
For more serious rule violations, citations will be issued immediately. Citations will be given immediately for
the following offenses:
Rough Behavior
Fighting
Disrespect/Adults
Profanity
Racial Slurs
Verbal Abuse
Sexual Harassment
Abuse School Property
Disrupting Classes in Session
Misbehavior in the Playground
Detention Area

SOME OF THESE MISBEHAVIORS, SUCH AS FIGHTING AND DEFIANCE CAN LEAD DIRECTLY TO
A SUSPENSION OR POLICE INVOVLEMENT.

Immediate Suspension May Occur For Certain Offenses. Fighting and serious defiance of a staff member
are examples.

After 10 days of suspension, a student will be referred to a pre-expulsion hearing in the Program Directors
office

Fisherofmen Ministries Inc.

  • 1. FISHEROFMEN  ™ MINISTRIES INC. The Vision Fisherofmen™ Ministries Inc. a Revolutionary, Urban Community Outreach Para-church - youth organization, broken into three distinct areas with one purpose: The Transformation of the West Side of the City of Chicago by furthering the Kingdom of God in Youth, Family, Community Involvement, and Cultural Ministry Development. quot;Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the Great Commission has forfeited its biblical right to exist.quot; -- Oswald J. Smith Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach: a program to develop disciples throughout the community. It is made up of like minded Youth Leaders and Pastors from across the West Side of Chicago. These outreach teams or chapters have the soul purpose to fulfill the Great Commission by doing strategic, calculated outreach in a way that is effective and life changing. This minister’s to the Spiritual and Emotional needs of the community. Fisherofmen™ Family Center: the for-profit Financial Back Bone of the Ministry. Here is the development of a youth recreation center that houses a Bowling Alley and a Skating Rink. This area ministers to the Physical, Social, Economical needs of the community by providing areas for families and youth to socialize and stay fit and giving to families in need. Fisherofmen™ Youth Development Center: a non for-profit, privately funded community outreach center, that houses both an after school program for school aged children and an alternative high school/GED program. There will be a community theater for use of local churches, community meetings and small concerts. The after school programs computer lab will be used to develop computer skills for both youth and their parents. The after school program becomes a summer day camp when school is out. There will be class rooms set up to foster academic growth for kids in grades K-1st, 2nd-3rd, 4th-5th & 6th-8th. This Program also provides transportation to and from the facility. Fisherofmen ™ Leadership Training Program (part of the Youth Development Center) is where the after school & summer program develops teens and college students into future leaders by pairing them with teachers, tutors or school age workers as teacher aids or Interns. This program ministers to the Intellectual, Social, Emotional, Spiritual and Economical needs of the community. High School students earn both community service learning hours and an income as part of this program.
  • 2. The Plan Both Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach and the Youth Development Center targets Inner City Youth who want to make their world a better place by creating communities worth living in. These programs deal with the issues of the community that effect the Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Economical and Emotional needs of that area. Though the Youth Outreach program targets specific ethnic groups or communities, it is not limited to these groups, but encourages interracial, multi-ethnic and trans-cultural outreach across neighborhoods of different backgrounds.  2 Year Plan • To take part in the development of the largest ongoing youth evangelistic crusade every witnessed on the West Side of Chicago where Teens are taught how to win souls and build the body of Christ. • To develop a board of trustees from the surrounding communities (Lawndale, Austin, Little Village, Garfield Park & Humboldt Park) that is of one mind and purpose. • To develop a team of resource seeker and grant writers to start the vision. • To successfully network with likeminded and purpose driven Parents, Community Leaders, Youth Leaders, Camp Directors, Youth Educators, Program Directors, Youth Pastors, School Teachers, Recording Artist, Actors, Professional Athletes, Law Enforcement and State and Local Government Officials.  5 Year Plan Fisherofmen™ Youth Outreach will grow like a “street gang” where the inner city youth are drawn to Jesus and are taught the importance of community. Where their talents and skills are honed for the building of God’s kingdom and the Spiritual, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Economical, and Educational transformation of the West Side of Chicago and possibly the world around them. Fisherofmen™ Family Center will be founded and built on the west side of Chicago. And be financially self supporting; housing a Bowling Alley and Skating Rink with and internet café and health wise restaurant. Fisherofmen™ Youth Development Center, after careful research of the needs of the community and the development of a plan to better serve them, will hold a number of full size class rooms for workshops, youth ministry, after school/summer programs, alternative school programs, parent development, ACT and SAT preparation and testing, a teen mentoring and job programs as well as other educational programs, will also house a 500 or better seat Auditorium/Theater for concerts, plays, community meetings and church functions. The computer lab will be used for the training and development of both parents and youth. After careful research of the needs of the community and the development of a plan to better serve them, some space can be used by programs such as Jobs for Youth, City Year, Boys and Girls Scouts of America, Abstinence programs, CAPS, Family and Youth Seminars, Habitat for Humanity, Cease Fire, etc. There is to be private office space and boardrooms to support program directors, management and our employees.
  • 3. Mission Statement Fisherofmen ™ Ministries Inc. are committed to reaching out to underserved communities on Chicago’s Northwest, West and Southwest sides and to developing long-term relationships with professional, educational, and nonprofit organizations and churches that serve those communities. We see our efforts through our market place ministry, family, youth and community outreach programs as a way of strengthening ties and growing talent—talent that we hope one day will further the advances of The Kingdom of God in youth. Through these programs, will be giving back to the diverse communities in which we work, live, and do business and service. The main components of our outreach program serve these communities through supporting higher education, youth and family development programs, and agencies that focus on youth. Through these relationships we provide corporate contributions to strengthen awareness of and access to information for all people in our communities within the interest of the organization. Fisherofmen ™ Ministries Inc. is all committed to fulfilling the Great Commission as given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In addition to our outreach programs, will participates in national, regional, and local conferences for several organizations by facilitating workshops, advertising in publications, and sponsoring annual events. Outreach Partnerships Fisherofmen ™ Ministries Inc. would like to partner with Like Minded Local Community organizations to bring growth to our communities. We will maintain relationships with such groups through networking toward reaching a common goal. New Life Community Church, the House Covenant Church, Lawndale Christian Health Center, Breakthrough Urban Ministries & Bethel New Life, Circle Y, Y-Men, Teen Challenge, World Vision, West Side Christian School, Hope Christian Academy, Timothy Christian, Wheaton College & Moody Bible Institute are just some of those in mind. Our Creed • The one true and living God, who eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, loves everyone. • God uniquely revealed and inspired the Bible, so that it alone is God’s Word written, hence the Holy Scriptures are the only inerrant authority for what we believe about God’s moral law, salvation from sin and how we should live. • Since the disbelief and disobedience of Adam and Eve, all humans have failed to obey God’s two major laws summed up by the Lord Jesus Christ. • We have failed to love God with our whole being and we have failed to love our neighbors as ourselves. People have become slaves to selfishness and are alienated from God and one another. • Jesus’ death in our place reconciles us to God. • His atoning sacrifice provided redemption from the power of sin, forgiveness for our guilt, and reconciliation to Himself and others. • We become acceptable to God, or justified, not by works, but by God’s grace alone, through faith in Christ alone. • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory. • The Holy Spirit draws sinners to repentance, belief in the Gospel and trust in the risen Christ of whom it speaks.
  • 4. The Holy Spirit then assures believers of salvation, gives them gifts for servant ministries, and empowers them to meet the needs of the lost, the poor, and the oppressed. • All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are members of His one international, multi-ethnic and trans- cultural body called the universal church. • Its unity is displayed when we reach beyond racial and denominational lines to demonstrate the Gospel’s reconciling power. • Our primary calling is to communicate the Gospel with power to everyone in our generation and nurture disciples. Nothing must divert us from carrying out our Lord’s Great Commission until His glorious return to reign in righteousness. Our Call Matt 4:18-19 “As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers; Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. [19] “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” II Chronicles 7:14 quot;If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.quot; Matt 28:18–20 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen”. The dawning of the 21st century finds the church of America in a moral and spiritual crisis. Decades of self- centered living and worldliness have taken their toll. Years of compromise and toothless gospel preaching have had their effect. And now we have reached the moment of truth: Either we wake up, stand up, speak up, and act up, or we run the risk of becoming a mere historic curiosity, an irrelevant religious sideshow, an entertaining, harmless spectacle. Something must change, and it must change now. There is no other choice. Forty years ago, a counterculture revolution swept through America, resulting in a sudden, steep moral decline. Since that time (from the early ’60s until today), the divorce rate has doubled, the teen suicide rate has tripled, reported violent crime has quadrupled, the prison population has quintupled, the percentage of babies born out of wedlock has risen six-fold, and couples living together out of wedlock has risen sevenfold. And the end is not in sight. The last generation’s counterculture of rebellion has become this generation’s establishment of revulsion, and what was unthinkable forty years ago – daytime talk shows celebrating adultery and incest; homosexual love scenes on major network TV; eleven-year-old multiple murderers; massacres in our schools and houses of worship – is a matter of course today. We need a revolution! But this revolution will be different than other revolutions – including the revolution that birthed our nation more than 200 years ago. This revolution will not be fought with earthly weapons of destruction – not with guns and knives and bullets and bombs. It will not be fought with hatred, anger, intimidation, or brute force. No. It will be fought with the message of the gospel, with the love of God, with the power of the Spirit, with radical holiness, with sacrifice, compassion, and courage. It will be a Jesus revolution, an intense clash between two spiritual kingdoms, a heavenly attack on the enemy’s strongholds, a no-compromise stand for morality and truth. And it will impact society in a lasting way. It must! (From The Jesus Manifesto)
  • 5. There is a revolution underway on campuses around the world. Youth, no longer content to be spectators, are reclaiming their world for God. They are taking the power and the presence of God to the classroom as well as the ball field. The spiritual climate is dramatically changing and schools are being transformed. (Harvest Evangelism) Board of Trustees Members (vision) Roy Patterson Roy has been with Moody Radio for seven years. He is also host of Music for Sunday and Urban Praise— heard live on WMBI AM 1110 in Chicago, Illinois. For a number of years Roy was the head of the Youth department at St. Luke C.O.G.I.C. on the near north side of Chicago. Patterson is pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and has been involved in counseling ministry for years. Patterson and his wife, Lynette, have three children and live in Chicago. Antonio Daniels Husband. Father. Son. Brother. Friend. Fisher of Men. Born in Chicago, Antonio moved to Denver Colorado for part of his elementary, junior high and first quarter of High School. He moved back to Chicago and went to High School at Englewood and later Austin Community Academy because of his involvement with gangs where he later graduated and had came to know the Lord under the discipleship of Rev. James T. Smith, a girl’s basketball coach at the time who would take him to Christ Community Church where he sat under the teaching of the late Dr. Ben Johnson. Antonio went to Columbia College Chicago where he was a part of Love Enlightment Gospel Choir where he developed his call to outreach. As a member of St. Luke Church of God in Christ, Antonio has been involved in youth outreach since 1993. He lived in Cabrini Green with a Moody student and there a seed was planted in his heart for Urban Youth. As a Youth Leader at St. Luke, Antonio always felt a pull towards the youth outside the church and in the streets. After years in retail sales he was reunited with James T. Smith at Servants of the Word Youth Outreach in 2004 where the seed was watered and the burden for community deepened. • 6. Company Logo Jesus calls his first followers to become “Fisher of Men” Matt4:19. “Fisherofmen” is always one word. This is symbolic of the one mission: The Great Commission. The body of Christ is also one Church, with one Lord, one Faith and one baptism. In a world of “Darkness” in which we struggle against (Eph 6:12 hence the black background) we are called to be “The Light” and “The Salt”. Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus tells his disciples, quot; You are the salt of the earthquot; and quot; You are the light of the world.quot; Thus you find “salt” surrounding the letters and waves of “light” flowing from them. The Red, Black and Green communicate a part of the gospel message and biblical truth that the blood (red) of Jesus cleanses all sin (dark) and that repentance heals the land (green). Ephesians 1:7, Also read II Chronicles 7:14. As you may or may not be aware of, a large and diverse group of people from many different walks of life (business, government, churches, citizens, etc.) are quite concerned about the negative beliefs and attitudes being expressed through various types of crime across the community. Many different corrective actions have been taken and progress has been realized in some areas. However, many feel the fundamental character traits of the community are being steadily eroded. In fact, those in a position to
  • 7. know, say that a new generation is coming along now that nobody is reaching very well. The outlook for our community leaves a lot to be desired. While fingers can be pointed in many directions, many of our own church leaders recognize that the American Church has failed to live up to the beliefs it professes. Hence, in many ways, it has surrendered to the culture rather than transforming it. Many church people realize that the time has come for decisive action. Too often, church leaders have focused on building their own congregation, thereby neglecting the larger community. For several years now, the Transformation move of God has been afoot to bring the churches back to unity in Christ and cooperation in ministry. Denominational, Racial, Gender, and other boundaries are being dismantled. It will grow like a “Gang” or and “Army” where the inner city youth are drawn by biblical love to the Lordship of Jesus and are taught the importance of a Biblical Kingdom-minded community. Sounds easy right? No but with much prayer and organization it is possible. Each group will engage in months of prayer and fasting and encouraged to live a life of purity and devotion to the Lord, His Kingdom and to the Church. These outreach groups or chapters have the soul purpose to fulfill the Great Commission by doing strategic, calculated outreach in a way that is effective and life changing. With the leading of the Lord and the organized leadership having one mind and purpose these groups will develop into a powerful force towards building Kingdom minded community. There are chapters housed in willing churches in each community where the youth will meet for prayer, bible study, worship and fellowship. Each Chapter Group will develop an outreach program model that under fervent and effectual prayer, works best for the needs of their community but based around the teaching of Focus on the Family’s, The Truth Project®. The Lord is calling for more Prayer Warriors and Praying Saints. He is calling His Soldiers, the Army of God, together for such a time as this. He is joining us together corporately for the Work of the Kingdom of God. Intercessors and praying saints of the Lord Jesus Christ have been separated for many years, praying alone by ourselves, in our prayer closets, etc. which was wonderful for those times and you still continue to pray for your church etc. but the Lord is calling us out of our homes, churches, closets, etc. for the Kingdom work which is a Bigger Picture and a higher level of Intercession and calling. We can now join other Intercessors and Praying Saints for the Great Work that is ahead of us. We need you and JESUS CHRIST needs you. Some of the Prayer Partners might not be able to attend the prayer gatherings but can pray together in connecting together and networking for the Kingdom. This will be great because we need those prayer partners that can cover what is happening and can be praying with us at some of those times. Prayer Tactics The 3 Levels of Intercession
  • 19. Level 1 - INTERVENTION Ezekiel 22:30 I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before me, on behalf of the land... Intercession begins by having open eyes. Eyes that see the current situation of the Nation, a family, the Church, person, etc. God then opens our eyes and gives us an insight and a foresight of how the situation should be. Habakkuk, the prophet saw this. The insight and the foresight we get becomes a burden when we realize the necessity of change. The burden is the vision. One will see it and just ponder over it and then let it go. The other Intercessors see it and step out to bring the vision to life. The stepping out is the Intervention. Think of Nehemiah 1. When Nehemiah was told what was happening to the survivors, He got the picture of how things were and how they ought to be. This became a burden to him and he stepped out by praying. The initial step of intercession is the standing in between; between the present and the future. The future is God's plan. The present may be the result of some human sin and failure, or demonic oppression, or God's judgment, thus impacting human life. Intervention is standing in between. The burden is bringing in the Lord’s plan to the present situation. Level 2 - INTERSECTION The second level of intersession is two-fold. In Ezekiel 1: 15, Ezekiel saw the image of the four creatures. The creatures had wheels, each of which intersected and so, made it possible for them to move whenever the Spirit moved...vs.19. Their movement was the same and none could move without the other. God is calling His people to intersect with one another. The Spirit of networking is released upon His people now more than ever before. We are called to be one body, walking together in love and unity with every part functioning, working together for the Kingdom of God for His Glory.(1 Corinthians 12:12) God is bringing a merging together of ministries, where we minister under greater corporate anointing for the purpose of Kingdom building. In Ezekiel 1: wheel intersecting... As we intersect there will be a cross pollinating with one another and we will see the fruit. Wheels intersecting wheels, big and small all functioning together. The results will be awesome. Are we of one mind, one Spirit that nothing can stop or withhold what we pray about? Genesis11:16. The other side of Intersection is standing in the by-pass, or crossroads, where people are confused and show them the way (Joel 3:14) There are multitudes in the valley of decision. The Day of the Lord is near in the Valley of Decision. The whole world is in confusion. People have a choice to make and everyone is looking for a solution. Leaders have reached a place where things are running out of control. Nations are crying for some supernatural intervention. Church we are called to step out and give the solution. We are to show the way. We are called by God to point people to the Cross of Calvary. The cross stands in the crossroad, .the by-pass, where the intersection points people to the cross. Do we give our own views in the situation, or do we speak God’s voice. The time has come when we must echo God's voice to a confused world. The world needs hope. That hope is found in Christ Jesus. It's time we show them the way and how to divide between the evil and the righteous, the holy and the un- holy, The carnal and the spiritual. We are called to stand in the intersection, with the cross to point the way. Level 3 - INTERCEPTION It is the act of taking by force, Matthew 11:12. We know the devil is at work and many things are bound to happen. Our mission is to sabotage the enemy’s mission. The devil's mission is to destroy our families, our churches, our communities and our nation. We need to rise and act. Jesus did this on the cross for us. (Colossians 2:14-15) Man's tendency is to loose what is freely given to him. Christ has won the victory for us but we must hold it. Satan aims at making us loose that victory. Much of what we see is meant to destroy God's people. The time has come to expose the devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-18) Please take note of verse 11. Our mission is to stand against the devil's schemes. We need to step out and act quickly. Church, the
  • 20. time to rise is now. God is counting on us and we must intercept. We must destroy the plans of the enemy. As we take the whole armor of God, we will be able to stop what is planned against God's people. When we work together and act together victory is certain. Our mouth needs to be filled with a shout of triumph and the voice of victory. There is no greater way to disarm the enemy than through praise and worship. It's time we spoke prophetically. Our words are like great missiles in the world of darkness. The time has come to prophesy over our Families, churches, city, and nation. God is looking for people who are ready to step out. If God's people will step out and cry out in prayer, and shout victory over the enemy, things will change. You have creative power. What you call forth will be. It's time that God's people bring all the Kingdoms and Rulers of this world under the Kingship of His Son. Step out with one voice. Nothing will stop you. There is a call for massive intercession that will bring massive destruction to the Kingdom of Darkness God is orchestrating things. We need to be one, to hold it, and keep it. Join hands with each other and with God and Let It Be! 1 Kings 8:29 May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Colossians 2: 14-15 Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

  • 23. And Every Body Else in the Community Fisherofmen™ Family Center A place to work and a place to build relationships that are family friendly and safe for the community. The purpose of this Family Center is to “rebuild the ancient ruins….raise up age old foundations…be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the streets in which to dwell.” ISAIAH 58:12 This is where the money is made and jobs are created, but giving back to the community is taken literally. This ministers to the Physical, Social, Economical needs of the community. The money (outside of the needs of the business) made here will go back to the families quarterly (every 3 months) by answering to the written request of our customers who live in the five communities of outreach; Lawndale, Austin, Little Village, Garfield Park & Humboldt Park. These requests will be met by careful prayer, investigation and consideration by the board members and the leadership. Employees are exempt from these seeds but encouraged to show the same level of Kingdom Minded sowing in what ever way the Lord allows in their personal area of influence. As stated before there will be a skating ring and a bowling alley and a sit down fast (but healthy) food restaurant. Christian Music will be played at all times in both areas. If there are any video games they will be free of mindless violence and witchcraft. Billiards and Foosball tables will be housed in this area. After School Program Components • Academic Support - The academic support component of the program consists of homework and tutorial assistance, reading and academic intervention/remediation. • Improvement Learning - The improvement/concealed learning piece is implemented through a learning center approach. Learning centers may include nutrition, art, mathematics, science, reading, drama and other topics that are complementary to traditional school day instruction. For example, if students are learning fractions in the classroom, a learning center may focus on students participating in a cooking lesson following a recipe. • Pro social Skills/Activity - The pro social skills/activity piece consists of structured indoor and outdoor activities. • Parent Support and Empowerment - A Parent Orientation is provided at the beginning of the program to provide information and facilitate communication between program staff, parents and students. Student Population Students are referred to the program by administrators, teachers, parents, or a self-referral. Typically, students who participate in the Fisherofmen After-School Program are in need of minimal academic assistance, which is usually in the form of help with homework. Enrichment and recreation activities provide lots of fun for all students. Attendance Policy Students must attend Fisherofmen After-School five days per week for a minimum three hours per day. If a student is absent, parents are expected to communicate, written or verbally, to the Fisherofmen program staff in addition to the traditional school day staff. Ten cumulative unexcused absences can be considered excessive and a student's enrollment in the program may be revoked. Space is limited and there are usually waiting lists. Funding The Fisherofmen After-School Program is supported through a combination of funding sources: This is a non- for-profit agency but is not link to any federal government funding. There is not 501(c)(3) component to this program which allows total freedom to operate in Kingdom principals. The basic concept of school climate is to establish a positive school environment that is safe, healthy, and productive. Therefore, it is important that the policies, procedures, and school rules be shared and understood by students, parents, and school staff members. Each teacher spends an extensive amount of time at the beginning of the school year teacher and reviewing this information with all students to ensure understanding and establish positive expectations for student behavior. Parental participation in this process will help your child's understanding of these rules and procedures. It will also help the students to understand that both parents and school staff share the same expectation of positive school behavior and support a safe and orderly learning environment.

The bike rack is off limits during program hours. Skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, and skates are not allowed at school. Field Trips All students have the right to attend program field trips. There are little to no field trips during the regular program year. Field trips are an extension of the classroom learning environment in a less structured setting. Therefore, it is important that students participating in the field trips conduct themselves in an appropriate manner which will ensure their safety and the safety of others. Students' behavior must be appropriate to the setting to allow all participants the opportunity to see, hear, and learn. During a field trip, a student will be expected to follow program rules. If a student's behavior endangers his/ her safety or the safety of others or requires a significant amount of teacher/chaperone time which would endanger others, the student will be removed from the site of the field trip. Either the parent will be called to come to the site and take the child home or the Program Director will come to the site and take the child back to the school. One indicator of a student's ability to behave on a field trip is the citizenship exhibited in program. Therefore, a student may be excluded from a field trip if prior behavior has been inappropriate and causes a concern for (1) the safety of others, or for (2) the amount of teacher/chaperone time that would be required to monitor such behavior. Systematic Plan for Teaching Appropriate Behavior Recognition of Positive Behavior The major emphasis at Fisherofmen is on positive recognition for appropriate program behavior. Special recognition is given to students who follow the rules of safety and good citizenship in the classroom, on the playground, and in the cafeteria. 1. Classroom: Each teacher will have their own student recognition program which will be shared with parents at Funding Night. 2. School Wide: • Earning “Gotcha” coupons to spend at the Gotcha store which is sponsored by the PTA • Grade level awards assembly each trimester recognizing good citizenship and achievement in both program and regular school • Attendance awards and recognition • Pizza with the Program Director • Student art work, projects and other related curriculum work will be displayed in the office and cafeteria/MP room Negative Consequences The major consequence system at Fisherofmen is the CITATION system. Students who disobey program rules will be issued a citation. The consequences for the citations vary depending on the severity of the infraction. As a minimum, the following consequences will be given: FIRST CITATION: This is a warning citation. Teacher will counsel with student. Students will receive recess detention or other consequences as appropriate to the infraction. SECOND CITATION: Teacher will contact parent. Student will receive recess detention or other consequences as appropriate to the infraction. THIRD CITATION: Referral to the program office. A conference with the Program Director and/or a phone call home will be made by teacher or Program Director. Student will receive recess detention or other consequences as appropriate to the infraction.
  • 28. FOURTH CITATION: A conference will be scheduled by the classroom teacher to develop a plan to improve student’s behavior. Participants may be the parents, student, teacher, Program Director, and other staff as needed. Based on the conference, a contract will be written so that all members of the team know what to do to help improve the student’s behavior. Several conferences may be necessary to develop a successful plan. NOTE: Citations must be signed by the parent and returned to the teacher the next day. If the citation does not come back, the student will call home and be on recess detention. If a student develops a pattern of not returning citations to school, she/he may be suspended for defiance. Possible Negative Consequences to be applied when dealing with students who break Fisherofmen program rules: GRADES 1-6 Morning Recess Detention/Lunch Recess Detention: Students may be required to write behavior paragraphs for specific incident infractions. Detention can also be used for homework completion. ON-SITE DETENTION: Students attend school on another classroom while they complete assigned tasks and school work. This may be used as an alternative to sending students home during the school day. Certain consequences will be directly related to a student’s misbehavior. These natural consequences might include performing school cleaning tasks, assisting in a classroom, or otherwise “working off” their consequence. Students may be required to pay for any damages. Serious Misbehaviors For more serious rule violations, citations will be issued immediately. Citations will be given immediately for the following offenses: Rough Behavior Fighting Disrespect/Adults Profanity Racial Slurs Verbal Abuse Sexual Harassment Abuse School Property Disrupting Classes in Session Misbehavior in the Playground Detention Area SOME OF THESE MISBEHAVIORS, SUCH AS FIGHTING AND DEFIANCE CAN LEAD DIRECTLY TO A SUSPENSION OR POLICE INVOVLEMENT. Immediate Suspension May Occur For Certain Offenses. Fighting and serious defiance of a staff member are examples. Suspension means a removal of a student from ongoing instruction for adjustment purposes. It also means that the students is not to attend or participate in school activities for the duration of the suspension. Parents may be required to respond to a conference regarding a suspension before the suspended student is returned to class. Expulsion means a removal of a student from the supervision and control or the general supervision of program staff. A student who is expelled shall not attend any program or alternative instructional program within Fisherofmen Development Center for duration of the expulsion.
