Die-cast metals represents over 60% of the products overall cost. MCR’s factory redesigned over 30 different product tools (molds) to reduce the products weight, die–cast housings by a targeted 20% or more by volume. This Was accomplished without compromise to the structural and electrical Integrity of the products. Two benefits of this program resulted: Lower overall product costs Lower LTL or transportation costs EXAMPLE: Current industry standard 2-way horizontal RF splitters weigh approx 2.3 oz each A LTL truck shipment of 50,000 splitters would weigh 7,200 pounds. MCR’s reduced weight MoCA enabling 8100ME weigh 1.6 oz each. The same LTL truck shipment of 50,000 splitters would weigh 5,000 pounds This saves totals; (7,200-5,000=) 2200 pounds or shipping savings.
