Jesus' teachings have continued to be a source of great learning, debate and controversy. When he taught people were both amazed and intrigued by the authority with which he spoke. Listen to his words as he speak of life and hope into your life.
While witnessing in a square a couple of weeks ago, I came across two Christian ladies who asked me how I am able to do what I was doing (witnessing in a hostile environment); as they found that environment not conducive to witness in. So I told them some practical things to do `before coming out there, like prayer and fasting (if they can); but MORE IMPORTANTLY I told them a story of an incidence the Lord used to impress in my heart the priceless significance of a good conscience: and need for us is to continually seek the Lord for a GOOD CONSCIENCE so as to have a USEFUL HEART
Veil Rent - The Significance For Us? Boldness to “enter in”
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh. (Hebrews 10:19-20)
Here we have the answer to the question we have always asked: “what do I need to do to go near to God”?
Answer being: Boldness to “enter in”
Yes, the Confidence, self-assurance, nerve, cheek, audaciousness to enter into the very presence of God without the fear of dying there; we can no more die there, since Jesus Christ has died in our place; made eternal life guaranteed for us. Our boldness is based on the perfection of His sacrifice of which He said:
“IT IS FINISHED”
so:
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)

Truth and lies are much bigger than we usually think. We live surrounded by the lie and we lose our hope and our belief. Jesus is the "truth" in that he dispels the lie.
We circle the verse John 3:16 to discover it's meaning in context with the chapter. In the process we reveal an important lesson for Nicodemus and us about belief.
We overload our minds with so much information. Our rate of communication goes up, and the quality of our communication goes down. We are in danger of losing ourselves.

The bible is full of landscapes and scenery, each as important to the story as the characters. What can these landscapes tell us about our lives and what we need to do to seek God in the place we are?

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

2. What Is Jesus Mission?
• John 3:16
• We know that Jesus came to love us
• We know that Jesus died for our sins
• What was Jesus mission statement?
• Did you know Jesus came for revenge?
4. Jesus returned to Galilee in the power
of the Spirit, and news about him
spread through the whole countryside.
He taught in their synagogues, and
everyone praised him.
5. He went to Nazareth, where he had
been brought up, and on the Sabbath
day he went into the synagogue, as was
his custom. And he stood up to read.
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was
handed to him. Unrolling it, he found
the place where it is written:
6. The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me
to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year
of the Lord's favor.
7. Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it
back to the attendant and sat down.
The eyes of everyone in the synagogue
were fastened on him, and he began by
saying to them,
Today this scripture is fulfilled
in your hearing.
11. Jesus p0wnz!
• Jesus launches his teaching here
• Got up and turned right to the place
in the scroll that was handed to him
• Read that he was the fulfillment
of the prophecy of Isaiah
• That shut everyone up!
• What did Jesus come to do?
13. It is mine to avenge; I will repay.
In due time their foot will slip;
their day of disaster is near
and their doom rushes upon them.
Deuteronomy 32:35
14. noun: vengeance, retribution, payback
the act of taking revenge
harming someone in retaliation
for something harmful that they have done
especially in the next life
16. The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners
17. Planned Tangent!
• What is the good news?
• He was sent with the favor of God!
• Who is brokenhearted
and what does that mean?
• What does it mean to bind up?
• Jesus is the healer and lover of our soul
18. The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners
19. to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn
20. and provide for those
who grieve in Zion
to bestow on them:
a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair
21. They will be called
oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor
22. Instead...
• He takes what we deserve
• He gives us the exact opposite
• He provides something
in place of something else
• God offers us a free replacement
• Why? To show God s glory and splendor
23. Total Vengeance
• Our God loves getting even
• Our God loves doing the impossible
• Our God s idea of vengeance is so cool
• He takes every ever done wrong to you
• He smashes it into the enemy s face
• Jesus converts curses into blessings
25. See, I am setting before you today
a blessing and a curse
the blessing if you obey the commands of the
LORD your God that I am giving you today;
the curse if you disobey the commands of the
LORD your God and turn from the way that I
command you today by following other gods,
which you have not known.
26. Jesus Breaks The Curse
• Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy
• Jesus came to fulfill the law
• The law brings the curse of death
because we cannot follow it
• We all live in separation from God
• Jesus came to steal and give back
what that enemy stole!
27. What Has Been
Stolen From You?
• Your life
• Your mom or dad
• Your reputation
• Your innocence
• Your future
• Your blessing
29. You are people of the blessing
And not the people of the curse
30. We p0wn. w00t!
• I am Jesus am you can be too
• Jesus was in the power of the Spirit
• The Isaiah verse applies to
those whom God s spirit is upon
• If you believe and want to receive this
anointing, God is faithful to provide it
• This becomes your mission statement
