  Acknowledgement
To start this report, we would like to give an enormous amount of thanks
to our lecturer, Mr.Shankar for sharing his psychological knowledge that he
learned in his younger age, and opting our eyes and minds.
Through the lectures given, we gained so much knowledge from him. It is
beyond the shadow of doubt that without him our minds would still be
lacking of information about what is really happening around us and helped
us to be able to see clearly about the reality of an incident.
Next, we also like to thank each other's presence in all meeting and
shooting session that we had together. Indeed, we are grateful for one
another for being supportive throughout our hard time doing the assignment,
as well as willing to contribute the work equally. Finally we would like to
express our gratitude to everyone that has given us support both physically
and mentally in order for us to finish our work successfully.

Introduction
Introduction, as we arranged them to be , we should start at the very
beginning whether it's a start of story or a journey for our report.
In this project, we are assigned to come up with a documentary of a
storyline video clip that contains 5 psychology concepts. The video clip must
be worth of 3 to 5 minutes long. This project should be done in a group of 5
to 6 members and students are allowed to choose any concepts that the feel
most suitable to their story. Also, all the concepts should be taken from the
chapters that had taught in class.
Apart from that, upon from finishing the project, there are three 3 important
requirements to fulfil, first each group have to come up with the video clip
that includes 5 different psychology concepts, second every group have to
create a report based on video clip they made, and finally each group need
to present a PowerPoint slides to the lecturer and their classmates.
Through this process of completing the project, we are able to cope the 5
concepts that we had used in our film. With this, we are able to relate and
infuse the concepts back to our daily life. Another purpose of this project is
to allow the student to engage with psychological inquiry and become self-
regulated learners.

Method
Milieu
The filming took place in several place in Taylors University Lakeside
Campus, we took the first scene in architecture studio level 3 to show
working scene. Then we moved to the hallway outside architecture studio
level 3 where the main actress and actor passing by. The staircase outside
SLC as a meeting point for both actor and actress where the scene is most
suitable for that particular situation. We went to the commercial block for the
ending scene and car park where the accident happened in the video.
Timing
We started filming on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm – 5.30pm, we chose the
weekends because the campus is less crowded and it is easier for us to film
during that time period where lighting is appealing.
Operation
I. Discussion
We communicated through Whatsapp and facebook , jobs and tasks were
distributed through whatsapp, meeting time and venue were also discussed
through whatsapp and facebook. Whereas for ideas and brainstorming for
storyline and etc we discussed during meeting which usually held in library
after class.

II. Role delegation
Every member is best to contribute his or her effort as much as other
members to be fair, We discussed and settled the roles for everyone based
on their forte to ensure efficiency while completing this assignment.

III. Video Filming
As mentioned earlier, we filmed at Taylors University Lakeside Campus at
several venues as there were many different scenes and we chose the most
suitable location for every scene.
Each scene were taken from several angles to show different angles and
closeness to portrayed the character perfectly and the scene to be as
perfect as possible. We tried our best to film it in the most professional way,
our videographer Leo, Jian Xiang has many experience in video filming
therefore we used a different approach of filming compare to the ordinary
ways.
7

IV. Analysis, tabulation and presentation
The video clip we did must actually supported by a report as well as a
PowerPoint slide presentation, as it is a part of requirement based on our
project brief given. Appropriate analysis, research as well as tabulation of
data was done to make sure we are on the right track. We delegated the
tasks of the report to speed up the process and efficiency.
As for our presentation, we went for the minimalistic theme for our slides
layout, this is for easy reading purposes and the slides to explain with the
simple way and easier for everyone to understand. We also practiced our
presentation before the actual presentation to avoid any mistake and more
the presentation to be interesting.

Apparatus and material used
To ensure the filming to go smoothly and more professional, and for the
video to go according to plan, we used a few apparatus and equipment to
abide whatever possible bad causes.
• Camera (Canon EOS 70D DSLR)
Using a DSLR is much better and more professional compare to
phone as the video quality and sound quality is much better.
• Lenses (Canon 24-105mm F4 L Lens, Canon 10-18mm STM Lens
and Canon 50mm F1.8)
Different lenses for different scene and location for the video so that
the outcome will be as clear and smooth as possible
• Tripod and Tripod slider
Using tripod will help to void shakiness in the video and help to
stabilize the video directly, and also video slider for camera can be
used to take different angles at the same time moving as smooth as
possible.
• Application used to produce the film: Final Cut Pro X
This video editor is more professional compare to windows movie
maker and imovie.

conversation. Both of them are obviously very shy. Jean is indeed very
happy to came up a small conversation first. That’s how they both met. Jean
then decided to get her phone number in the studio, but Rachel’s best friend
Amelisa denied. It turns out that Rachel still agree in giving him her phone
number.

both are together. They study hard, work hard and do well together in
exams. They both have a great year ahead in degree life too. One day, their
lecturer return the exam papers to them, but Jean didn't receive it because
his lecturer stereotyped that he will cheat in the exam, so he failed Jean.
Rachel immediately proves to the lecturer that Jean didn't cheat in the
exam. The lecturer then apologise to him.
Although they have a good relationship, but fights occur in both of
them as well. One day, both of them were arguing about affairs in the car.
The fight got intense and Jean lost control while disputing matters. The car
slipped. Rachel did not survive from the accident, but Jean did.
10

After the accident, Jean felt depressed and he is in lost of direction.
His life was ruined by himself. Amelisa is very sad and eventually scolded
Jean for driving recklessly. Jean is ignoring everyone in his life now. He
regrets for his action during the fight. 5 months later, Jean saw a beautiful
girl who looks like her past deceased girlfriend. He is very shock. Therefore,
the story continues to the audience with great imaginary of what could it
happen after Jean saw the girl who looks like Rachel.

Application of Concepts
1. Self-efficacy
Definition: one's belief in one's ability to succeed in specific situations
or accomplish a task.
How is it portrayed: In the film, Jean is an architectural student who
did not do very well in his results. However, his self-efficacy is very
high as he always belief in himself that he can do better in the next
exam. Also, he did not give up easily and always be confidant. With
his high self-efficacy, he is determined to work harder unlike his
friends who just gave up.
16

2. False consensus effect
Definition: tendency to overestimate the degree to which other people
agree with our beliefs, values, attitudes, and behaviours.
How is it portrayed: This happened when Jean wanted to get Rachel
phone number in architectural studio. However, when Jean
approached Rachel and asked his question, Amelisa stopped Jean
from getting Rachel phone number. This is because Amelisa thought
that Rachel will have the same opinion as her and felt that giving
phone number to a stranger is not appropriate. It is surprising that
Rachel actually disagreed with Amelisa and she gave her number to
Jean at the end. Eventually, Amelisa felt awkward as what she
assumed is actually wrong.
17

3. Passionate love

Rachel every day and slowly, they become couple. They did
everything together, and share each other’s feelings every moments.
Both of them are in deep love as they encounter problems together
and looked forward for their degree life in the future. They even
planned their future together!
18

4. Stereotype
Definition: An over generalized belief about a particular group or class
of people where it is a common phenomenon which is assuming that
all members of a group shares a common feature.
How is it portrayed: An incident happened when Jean and Rachel
lecturer is giving back their results paper but Jean did not get his result
back. His lecturer accused him in cheating in the exam as he thought
that Jean is a bad and lazy students who will not got good results. At
that moment, Rachel raised her hand and proved Jean innocent. The
lecturer believed him this time , he gave Jean’s result back and
apologised to him.
19

5. Hostile aggression
Definition: An act of aggression stemming from feelings of anger and
aimed at inflicting pain. It is a type of aggression driven by anger and
performed as an end in itself.
How is it portrayed: This happened when Jean and Rachel is having a
fight in the car while Jean is still driving. The aggressive emotion drive

Conclusion
In conclusion, this assignment had helped all of us in this group on
understanding the concepts and theories in a better way. Not only
about that, it also had taught us on how to analyse specific concepts
based on the particular scenario. We have now acquire an in-depth
understanding of the theories we chose as well as the theories that we
did not include in our video clip.
Besides, we would also like to express our greatest gratitude to our
lecturer, Mr. Shankar for teaching and helping us throughout this
semester. We would like to thank him for allowing us to be his student
and we are undoubtedly grateful to be under his wings for this subject.
Last but not least, we would like to take a moment to thank and
appreciate each other's presence throughout the whole preparation of
this project, in order to complete it. This is because we all believed
that it takes great effort to complete it and we can't do it if it's only a
person. The more man power, ideas and helping hands, the faster we
get the task complete.

  • 3. 3                                                                                                      Acknowledgement To start this report, we would like to give an enormous amount of thanks to our lecturer, Mr.Shankar for sharing his psychological knowledge that he learned in his younger age, and opting our eyes and minds. Through the lectures given, we gained so much knowledge from him. It is beyond the shadow of doubt that without him our minds would still be lacking of information about what is really happening around us and helped us to be able to see clearly about the reality of an incident. Next, we also like to thank each other's presence in all meeting and shooting session that we had together. Indeed, we are grateful for one another for being supportive throughout our hard time doing the assignment, as well as willing to contribute the work equally. Finally we would like to express our gratitude to everyone that has given us support both physically and mentally in order for us to finish our work successfully.
  • 4. 4     Introduction Introduction, as we arranged them to be , we should start at the very beginning whether it's a start of story or a journey for our report. In this project, we are assigned to come up with a documentary of a storyline video clip that contains 5 psychology concepts. The video clip must be worth of 3 to 5 minutes long. This project should be done in a group of 5 to 6 members and students are allowed to choose any concepts that the feel most suitable to their story. Also, all the concepts should be taken from the chapters that had taught in class. Apart from that, upon from finishing the project, there are three 3 important requirements to fulfil, first each group have to come up with the video clip that includes 5 different psychology concepts, second every group have to create a report based on video clip they made, and finally each group need to present a PowerPoint slides to the lecturer and their classmates. Through this process of completing the project, we are able to cope the 5 concepts that we had used in our film. With this, we are able to relate and infuse the concepts back to our daily life. Another purpose of this project is to allow the student to engage with psychological inquiry and become self- regulated learners.
  • 5. 5     Method Milieu The filming took place in several place in Taylors University Lakeside Campus, we took the first scene in architecture studio level 3 to show working scene. Then we moved to the hallway outside architecture studio level 3 where the main actress and actor passing by. The staircase outside SLC as a meeting point for both actor and actress where the scene is most suitable for that particular situation. We went to the commercial block for the ending scene and car park where the accident happened in the video. Timing We started filming on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm – 5.30pm, we chose the weekends because the campus is less crowded and it is easier for us to film during that time period where lighting is appealing. Operation I. Discussion We communicated through Whatsapp and facebook , jobs and tasks were distributed through whatsapp, meeting time and venue were also discussed through whatsapp and facebook. Whereas for ideas and brainstorming for storyline and etc we discussed during meeting which usually held in library after class.
  • 6. 6     II. Role delegation Every member is best to contribute his or her effort as much as other members to be fair, We discussed and settled the roles for everyone based on their forte to ensure efficiency while completing this assignment. Name of member Overall Context Video Context Hoh Jean Ming Grammar checker Main Character (Jean) Rachel Yeo Report editor Main Character (Rachel) Heng Sy Hua Slides designer Rachel’s bestfriend (Amelissa) Koo Jian Xiang Film producer Jean’s bestfriend (Leo) Ng Kwang Zhou Report editor Lecturer Omar Layas Report edior Jean’s bestfriend (Omar) III. Video Filming As mentioned earlier, we filmed at Taylors University Lakeside Campus at several venues as there were many different scenes and we chose the most suitable location for every scene. Each scene were taken from several angles to show different angles and closeness to portrayed the character perfectly and the scene to be as perfect as possible. We tried our best to film it in the most professional way, our videographer Leo, Jian Xiang has many experience in video filming therefore we used a different approach of filming compare to the ordinary ways.
  • 7. 7     IV. Analysis, tabulation and presentation The video clip we did must actually supported by a report as well as a PowerPoint slide presentation, as it is a part of requirement based on our project brief given. Appropriate analysis, research as well as tabulation of data was done to make sure we are on the right track. We delegated the tasks of the report to speed up the process and efficiency. As for our presentation, we went for the minimalistic theme for our slides layout, this is for easy reading purposes and the slides to explain with the simple way and easier for everyone to understand. We also practiced our presentation before the actual presentation to avoid any mistake and more the presentation to be interesting.
  • 8. 8     Apparatus and material used To ensure the filming to go smoothly and more professional, and for the video to go according to plan, we used a few apparatus and equipment to abide whatever possible bad causes. • Camera (Canon EOS 70D DSLR) Using a DSLR is much better and more professional compare to phone as the video quality and sound quality is much better. • Lenses (Canon 24-105mm F4 L Lens, Canon 10-18mm STM Lens and Canon 50mm F1.8) Different lenses for different scene and location for the video so that the outcome will be as clear and smooth as possible • Tripod and Tripod slider Using tripod will help to void shakiness in the video and help to stabilize the video directly, and also video slider for camera can be used to take different angles at the same time moving as smooth as possible. • Application used to produce the film: Final Cut Pro X This video editor is more professional compare to windows movie maker and imovie.

Rachel is a famous and intelligent student in the school. One day they bumped up with each other. They had a small conversation. Both of them are obviously very shy. Jean is indeed very happy to came up a small conversation first. That’s how they both met. Jean then decided to get her phone number in the studio, but Rachel’s best friend Amelisa denied. It turns out that Rachel still agree in giving him her phone number. They started to hang out and text with each other. Eventually they both are together. They study hard, work hard and do well together in exams. They both have a great year ahead in degree life too. One day, their lecturer return the exam papers to them, but Jean didn't receive it because his lecturer stereotyped that he will cheat in the exam, so he failed Jean. One day, both of them were arguing about affairs in the car. The fight got intense and Jean lost control while disputing matters. The car slipped. • 15. 15     Application of Concepts 1. Self-efficacy Definition: one's belief in one's ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish a task. How is it portrayed: In the film, Jean is an architectural student who did not do very well in his results. However, his self-efficacy is very high as he always belief in himself that he can do better in the next exam. Also, he did not give up easily and always be confidant. With his high self-efficacy, he is determined to work harder unlike his friends who just gave up.

How is it portrayed: This happened when Jean wanted to get Rachel phone number in architectural studio. However, when Jean approached Rachel and asked his question, Amelisa stopped Jean from getting Rachel phone number. This is because Amelisa thought that Rachel will have the same opinion as her and felt that giving phone number to a stranger is not appropriate. It is surprising that Rachel actually disagreed with Amelisa and she gave her number to Jean at the end. Eventually, Amelisa felt awkward as what she assumed is actually wrong.

Not only about that, it also had taught us on how to analyse specific concepts based on the particular scenario. We have now acquire an in-depth understanding of the theories we chose as well as the theories that we did not include in our video clip. Besides, we would also like to express our greatest gratitude to our lecturer, Mr. Shankar for teaching and helping us throughout this semester. We would like to thank him for allowing us to be his student and we are undoubtedly grateful to be under his wings for this subject. Last but not least, we would like to take a moment to thank and appreciate each other's presence throughout the whole preparation of this project, in order to complete it. This is because we all believed that it takes great effort to complete it and we can't do it if it's only a person. The more man power, ideas and helping hands, the faster we get the task complete.
