Ion I. C. Brătianu was a Romanian politician who served as Prime Minister for five terms and Foreign Minister on multiple occasions. He worked to unify Romania after World War I, bringing Transylvania, Bukovina, and Bessarabia into the Kingdom of Romania. Brătianu also played a role in Romania joining World War I on the side of the Allies in hopes of gaining support for incorporating Romanian lands from other empires. He was an influential leader of the National Liberal Party and died in 1927 in Bucharest.
