2.  Ion I. C. Bratianu was born on August 20, 1864
and is the great son of Liberal Ion C. Bratianu. He
becomes a member of the National Liberal Party in
1895, and in the same year he is elected deputy of
Gorj. At the PNL Congress in January 1909, Ion I.
C. (Ionel) Bratianu is elected president of the party,
a political function he will preserve until the end of
his life.
The modernization of Romania was the political
goal of Ionel Bratianu. He signed all major
documents and laws during the reigns of Kings I
and Ferdinand - the agrarian and administrative
reform, the revision of the Constitution, the
organization of the education system. Two years
after his election as deputy, Ionel Bratianu became
a member of the government. He was several times
minister and then prime minister.
According to the historian Ioan Scurtu, Premier
Bratianu made the decision to put Romania in the
war, which ultimately led to the national unity.

3.  Bratianu was a very good political tactician. A
liberalist connoisseur of the Liberal leader
was that he was "master of his means, he
pursued with indefinite precision his political
play, he did not care about the oratory pattern,
nor the polemic written." Ionel Bratianu was
aware of his political value and was
convinced that he wrote a page in his national
history, his political conception and actions
having a democratic character. That is why
Ion I. C. Bratianu addressed the MPs in
December 1919:
"You, gentlemen, are the representatives of a
people who are proud and proud of their past,
and who must have great confidence in their
future. Do not subtract the role he must have
in the world; Be fashionable for your person,
do not be modest for the people you
